AAD Featured Author Interview: Beth Williamson

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Beth Williamson!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
No, this will be my third. Woohoo! I attended in New Orleans and Savannah. I’m a veteran, so to speak, and I adore AAD. Such raucously good fun!

Tell us about the party you’re hosting at AAD!
I am hosting the Cowboy Stampede on Saturday at 5 pm with some amazing western romance authors including Cat Johnson, Sandy Sullivan, Hildie McQueen, Delilah Devlin and Amanda McIntyre. Oh, the fun we will have! There shall be premium swag, free books (download and paperback), raffle prizes and… Cowboy Family Feud! It’ll be a foot stompin’ good time!

What panels will you be on at AAD?
On Thursday, I will be in History Unlaced from 2-3 in Independence. On Friday, I will be in Westerns from 1-2 in Independence, and Kick Ass Heroines from 3-4 in Sharon. I’ll have books for the Blind Date Book Party on Wednesday, swag at the Blogger Swag party on Friday from 7-8 in Trade. I’m sponsoring lunch from 12-1 on Friday so more free books (ebooks!). And I’ll be at the Book club Meet and Greet on Saturday from 9-10 in Independence. I’m also one of the ribbon scavenger hunt authors so find me!! (I can sleep when I’m dead, right?)

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
I am a vodka girl! Favorites are Ciroc, Chopin and Tito’s - anything non-wheat, e.g., potato or grape. Love it mixed with any fruit juice. I think in a previous life I might have been a vodka taste tester at a factory. That’s the only explanation. ;)

SWAG. We all love SWAG! What cool stuff are you bringing?
Oho! Who doesn’t love swag? It’s da bomb, right? I will have my famous purple “Read a book, ride a cowboy” koozies, awesome purse-sized halogen flashlights, super cool pens, my famous cowboy and horse duckies, Malloy buttons (BUTTONS!!) and the extra special Malloy series mousepads for prizes.

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
I will have the Circle Eight series with me - CALEB, VAUGHN, and NICHOLAS. I might even have ARCs of TOBIAS… of course I love to tease people so I fully expect to flaunt said ARCs. ;)

AAD Featured Author Interview: Kerry Adrienne

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Kerry Adrienne!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
Yes! I’ve heard so many awesome things about AAD from dear friends, and I am so excited about being a part of this fabulous event.

So where will attendees be able to find you at AAD? Do you hang out in the bar? The lobby? Or are you the one who throws parties in their room?
I often sit in the bar and talk. Lots.

If you were to suggest one of your books to the AAD attendees, which book would it be?
Artist’s Touch. It’s the first book in my m/m art guild series. It’s set in NYC (my soul home) and I’ve had a lot of fun with the series. The second book, Sculptor’s Desire, *may* be out by AAD. I’ll also be wrapping up writing the third in the series, Guitarist’s Wish, by that time.

I heard through the grapevine you’re sponsoring a table at the Sins & Virtues ball. Tell us more!
I’m sponsoring as one of the Virtues--Charity. I’ll have lots of goodies for the attendees at my table--because--well, Charity is charitable! Whether you’re coming as a saint or a sinner, you’re going to love this event!

What panels will you be on at AAD?
I’ll be on the Mechanics of Gay Sex, Historical, and Ask the LGBTQ author panels.

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
I love a great margarita, rum and coke, or a beer.

SWAG. We all love SWAG! What cool stuff are you bringing?
I’ll be donating a basket to the raffle, and I’ll be bringing lots of swag--pens, bookmarks, post-its, magnets, emery boards, and free books of course!

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
I’ll at least have cover flats with coupon download codes for Artist’s Touch and Beautiful One. If Sculptor’s Desire is out, I hope to have some of those, too.

AAD Featured Author Interview: Louisa Bacio

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Louisa Bacio!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
I’m losing track! Charlotte will either be my third or fourth year.

What brings you back to AAD?
Stella throws a fantastic party. Seriously, I enjoy going to some of the other cons, but AAD is really my people: creative and a little bit of the dark side.

So where will attendees be able to find you at AAD? Do you hang out in the bar? The lobby? Or are you the one who throws parties in their room?
It’s all about the parties! I’ll be one of the hosts at the Sins & Virtues Ball (I’m Patience), and at the Paranormal Authors party. We always have a lot of fun at the panels, so look for me on the schedule. Otherwise, you’ll probably find me hanging out with a group of writer-friends.

I tend to be more shy in person than online, so make sure to say hello.

Do you have a book coming out before AAD you want the attendees to know about?
My latest book The Big One combines a rocker from the UK with a marketing admin assistant. It’s a Prepper Romance, and living in Southern California it’s about a potential we face everyday: earthquakes!

If you were to suggest one of your books to the AAD attendees, which book would it be?
Right now, I’m in love with my 1Night Stand series with Decadent Publishing: A Date with Death, A Dance with Death and the newest, A Duel with Death. They are paranormal light, and ultra-sexy

I heard through the grapevine you’re sponsoring a table at the Sins & Virtues ball. Tell us more!
My table is Patience. It’s probably a trait I encompass, lol. I’m planning some fun giveaways, and thinking lots of blue-lavender to continue the theme.

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
Just about anything vodka-based!

Everyone loves the conference costumes. Can you give any hints about what to expect?
The more creative, the better! People have some mad-crazy skills. I’m usually not quite outlandish, but I’ll normally have s0mething fun.

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
Most likely, I’ll have just about all the books in The Vampire, The Witch & The Werewolf series … in print!

AAD Featured Author Interview: Jessica Jarman

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Jessica Jarman!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
Nope, this is my fourth. :)

What brings you back to AAD?
It is by far my favorite con to attend. I love the atmosphere, catching up with old friends, laughing so hard my face hurts... The events are spectacular. I’ve met and spent time with more readers at AAD than any other con I’ve attended. And I LOVE that. I’m so excited for Charlotte, I could pee my pants (but, don’t worry, I won’t!)

Do you have a book coming out before AAD you want the attendees to know about?
YES! I’m part of an anthology with Jenny Trout aka Abagail Barnette and Bronwyn Green. It’s called If Ever I Would Leave You. The three stories are NA and contemporary twists on Arthurian Legend. I canNOT tell you how pumped I am for this collection to release. I’ve always loved anything to do with King Arthur, Merlin, Camelot, the Knights of the Round Table… To be able to channel that into a book, AND get to work with two of my favorite people in the world has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. I seriously have the best job in the world

If you were to suggest one of your books to the AAD attendees, which book would it be?
Aside from If Ever I Would Leave You, for all the reasons I mentioned above? LOL I would say any of my New Reality books. They’re set after the world pretty much falls apart, but there is still love and sexy times to be had. They were so much fun to write and will probably always be favorites of mine.

What panels will you be on at AAD?
I’ll be on the Take a Chance, Odd Paranormals and If it Makes You Feel Good. So come and see me!!!

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
Oh, I’m fairly easy. I’m happy with a beer, to be honest. A beer and some good conversation and I’m yours for a while. :)

AAD Featured Author Interview: Selena Blake

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Selena Blake!

So Selena, this is your first year attending AAD, right?
It is! I’m an AAD virgin.

What made you want to come to AAD?
I’ve heard so many great things about AAD and my friend Eliza Gayle’s been prodding me to attend for a few years. I’ve got to see what all the fuss is about and I can’t wait to meet new readers and finally put faces to the names I’ve known for years.

So where will attendees be able to find you at AAD? Do you hang out in the bar? The lobby? Or are you the one who throws parties in their room?
I’ll be around. Look for me hanging out in the halls or perhaps in the lobby when my feet give out. In the evening I wouldn’t be surprised if you found me at the bar. I’m on the hunt for the perfect martini!

If you were to suggest one of your books to the AAD attendees, which book would it be?
I would say Games Demons Play (http://bit.ly/GamesDemonsPlay). So many readers are shy about reading a “demon” book but this isn’t your traditional demon. He’s drop dead gorgeous and in my Mystic Isle series, demons are simply practical jokers. They’re not evil. So it’s not a traditional demon book by a long shot. It’s actually as sweet as it is sexy (and trust me, it’s sexy!) My demon’s also tender and protective when he’s not putting blue food coloring on your tooth brush. I think it’s one of my best books to date.

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
Well, like I mentioned, I’m on the hunt for the perfect martini. I tend to try things in waves. One year, I sampled a few hundred chocolate bars, the next I sampled margaritas. This year I’m on martinis. I had an incredible Key Lime martini in the Florida Keys a few months back so it’ll be hard to top that. I haven’t had a chocolate martini yet, but I’m looking forward to it.

SWAG. We all love SWAG! What cool stuff are you bringing?
I love romance trading cards and the ones for my Stormy Weather series are seriously gorgeous. So I’ll have a bunch of those on hand. I’ll also have some of my famous I Like My Werewolves Cajun t-shirts!

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
Things may change but I know I’m bringing Ask For It, my New York Times bestseller. If steamy contemporary romance (including sinfully handsome former NFL superstars) are you thing, you’ll want to check this out.

AAD Featured Author Interview: Alyssa Breck

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Alyssa Breck

Is this your first year attending AAD?
No. This is my third year.

What brings you back to AAD?
There are a few things that keep me coming back to AAD. I love hanging out with readers and other authors. AAD is a decidedly more relaxed environment than other cons I’ve attended. The parties are amazing. And the books...so many books! I’m not just an author attending, I’m also a reader.

Do you have a book coming out before AAD you want the attendees to know about?
The first book in my Bad Blood Empire series, Branded by Sin, will be releasing this summer from Ellora’s Cave. I’m super excited about it. I’ll have some swag and cover flats to share at AAD.

Tell us about the party you’re hosting at AAD!
I’m one of the sponsoring authors for the Paranormal Party on Friday afternoon. If you’re into the scary, spooky, vampires and werewolves type books, make sure and drop by for special paranormal swag and books. Oh, and food. There will be yummy snacks for all.

What panels will you be on at AAD?
AAD panels are always so much fun and very interactive. I’m thrilled to be a panelist on Rock and Roll, Vamps, Urban Fantasy and If it Feels Good.

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
Martinis. Extra Dirty. Like me. *smiles*

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
I will have copies of Unraveled, my new rock star novella. I will also have the newly edited version of Giving up the Ghost.

Where can readers find you?
I can be found engaging in shenanigans on Twitter (@AlyssaBreck) and Facebook.

AAD Featured Author Interview: Kris Norris

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Kris Norris!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
Not by a long shot. This is the third time I’ve been fortunate enough to attend this fantastic event.

What brings you back to AAD?
The answer’s easy. This is, without a doubt, the best author/reader con out there! While it might not sound like it, AAD is an incredibly intimate event. You have tons of time to hang with other authors and readers and really get to know folks. Dare I say, you get to make new friends? Hell, I managed to acquire two fantastic ladies to be part of my zombie team...they’re definitely coming north when it hits...can’t ask for more than that:) I absolutely love attending and being able to reconnect with people I only get to see once a year. And hey, the price is more than right. If you’re not signed up...what are you waiting for?

Do you have a book coming out before AAD you want the attendees to know about?
Actually, I do! The fourth book in my apocalyptic series What Remains… entitled Reckoning, will be releasing July 26th. And I hope to have the other three books there in Print form. Nothing like some zombies to get you geared up for fall!

What panels will you be on at AAD?
I’m lucky enough to be on three panels this year. Kick-ass heroines, which I’m really looking forward to. All of my leading ladies are pretty badass. Mostly because I think it’s important for women to be able to hold their own, and to be portrayed as something other than the damsel in distress. Not that they don’t occasionally need rescuing. We all do, but I love women that can save the guy just as easily.

I’m also on the sci-fi panel. I released a new series last year… Dark Horizon...after having some great success with my first sci-fi—Worlds Apart—I really wanted to revisit that genre. Also, I’m a giant Sci-Fi nerd. Star Trek, Star Wars, Firefly, Andromeda, Red Drawf...you name it I’ve probably seen it. I read Sci-fi too… the likes of Isaac Asimov and friends...I have one more book to go in my series because Alex needs closure... so I’m ready to talk about all things Star Trek and the like. Oh, or about my books (Captain Kirk...say it with me people. You know you want to:)

The third panel is the suspense/thriller one. At the end of the day, this is and will always be my favourite genre. There’s just something about stalkers, serial killers, the great escape or the race against time...there’s a reason I’ve watched all eight seasons of Criminal Minds...other than for Dr. Spencer Reid.

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
It has to be sweet, and not taste like alcohol. Mike’s Hard Lemonade—Black Cherry—is my current drink of choice. I know, totally girlie. But I won’t be shamed by that fact, lol.

SWAG. We all love SWAG! What cool stuff are you bringing?
I have a few things. I’m doing a scavenger hunt with three other authors. We’ll be giving away books and other goodies, as well as an electronic device (shhh, can’t say yet, wink wink). I’ve also got some fabulous smartphone cleaning cloths. They turned out really nice.

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
Hoping to have all three What Remains books… UNTAINTED, WASTELAND and MUTATION. I also hope to have a suspense/thriller book, DARKEST NIGHT, which I also designed the cover for.

AAD Featured Author Interview: Lissa Matthews

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Lissa Matthews!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
No. This will be my third Authors After Dark event.

What brings you back to AAD?
Location. Location. Location. I live in Charlotte. I don’t attend many cons, two usually. And because this one is typically located somewhere in the South, or at least within driving distance and usually not too pricey, it’s a good one. There’s something for everyone.

So where will attendees be able to find you at AAD? Do you hang out in the bar? The lobby? Or are you the one who throws parties in their room?
This year, I’m not sure. I don’t hang out in the bar much and I’m not a party person. I go where I’m supposed to go when there’s something scheduled, but otherwise, I’m usually in the lobby or in a central area or...wherever there’s coffee...

If you were to suggest one of your books to the AAD attendees, which book would it be?
The favorite is usually a toss up between Simple Need and Pink Buttercream Frosting. Two of my early ebooks that seem to still be talked about a lot.

What panels will you be on at AAD?
I’ll be on the Blue Collar Heros panel. I was only able to wrangle a spot on one panel this year. The last time I was on 4, I think. So this will be a little different. I’ll have a lot more free time.

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
I’m still working this one out. Twisted Up should be on hand as well as The Cupcake Cowboy. I’m hoping to have Stick Shift and if all the stars align and the seas part and I get that fairy godmother I’ve been desperately needing, I may have The Sticky Cowgirl as well. This has been a very difficult summer and everything for me is coming down to the wire with too much to do and catch up on and not enough time to do it.

AAD Featured Author Interview: Rita Sawyer

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Rita Sawyer!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
No. I’ve been coming back each year since I attended in Secaucus NJ back in 2010.

What brings you back to AAD?
For me AAD has it all. Approachable authors, fun book loving readers, and an atmosphere that is designed to bring them all together.

So where will attendees be able to find you at AAD? Do you hang out in the bar? The lobby? Or are you the one who throws parties in their room?
I’ll be found hanging out in the lobby.

If you were to suggest one of your books to the AAD attendees, which book would it be?
It would depend on what they were in the mood for. If someone’s look for a few quick reads with romance and laughter I’d have them check out my romantic comedy anthology Being Naughty Can Be Fun. If they want something hot and steamy then my Brazen Sister Series would come to mind, but a little less steamy go with the Heiresses In Aprons Series.

Tell us about the party you’re hosting at AAD!
I’m not hosting, but I am taking part in Game’s With Gooden And The Gang. You play games collect tickets and WIN prizes. I’ll have 2 games going. A Wheel of DOOM, and Ticket Pong.

What panels will you be on at AAD?
I’m on the Contemporary Romance, Humor, and Blue Collar Hero.

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
I’m not much of drinker, but when I do fuzzy Navel is my go to.

SWAG. We all love SWAG! What cool stuff are you bringing?
Complete and utter randomness. I look for stuff that’s different and fun.

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
I’ll have the first three on Heiresses In Aprons Series and a random assortment of my other titles.

AAD Featured Author Interview: Stacey Kennedy

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Stacey Kennedy!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
I love AAD so much that this is actually my third year!

What brings you back to AAD?
The people, the parties, basically the FUN! I love the fact that AAD is more intimate. There is a very good chance I’ll see everyone that I’ve met before and meet a lot of new people, and if that isn’t awesome I don’t know what is! I’ve had a total blast every time I’ve attended AAD that it keeps me coming back for more!

So where will attendees be able to find you at AAD? Do you hang out in the bar? The lobby? Or are you the one who throws parties in their room?
Without a doubt, I’ll be at the bar. What can I say? Wine makes me happy. Very happy!! So, please come and have a drink with me. :)

Do you have a book coming out before AAD you want the attendees to know about?
Yes, I do! Like BDSM, sexy Doms, and a sweet love story? Good. I’ve got you covered. The third CLUB SIN book is coming out just before AAD on July 22nd. Here’s a little bit about it:

Kyler Morgan, Master at the legendary Club Sin in Las Vegas, knows how to give women what they want—too well. He hasn’t had a real challenge in a long time. Then Ella Snow enters his life. Beautiful, inhibited, and innocent in the ways of submission and domination, Ella is the new blood he’s been lusting after. Soon, the thrill of training her to embrace his world brings forth desires Kyler cannot control.

After ending an abusive relationship, Ella makes a promise to herself to start living life to the fullest. It’s one of the reasons she seeks out Club Sin. Here, Kyler’s every touch is a lesson in liberation, stirring passions that have no bounds. But as she falls under Kyler’s command, Ella discovers that some secrets are so dark they must come to light. Submission alone may not be enough to save her, leaving her Master with only one question: How can he help Ella heal while unlocking the deep pleasures she craves?

Wanna know more? You can find it here - http://www.randomhouse.com/book/240353/desired-by-stacey-kennedy

Tell us about the party you’re hosting at AAD!
I’m a co-sponsor of the Leather & Lace party! Yes, it shall be a sexy night for sure! In fact, I think it’s a perfect night to wear a corset!! Oh, and if anyone wants to find me, I’ll be the one on the dance floor!

I heard through the grapevine you’re sponsoring a table at the Sins & Virtues ball. Tell us more!
I’ll be at the Wrath table. This is the first year that I’ll be wearing a costume and I totally admit this whole costume shopping thing was way more fun than I was expecting. If it wasn’t for Etsy, I think I might be in full panic mode, but that online store made life very easy for me. I love, love, love my costume, and I cannot wait to see yours! For my guests at the ball, I have quite a few goodies for you. No secret spilling here, but it shall be a wicked fun night!

AAD Featured Author Interview: Bianca D'Arc

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Bianca D’Arc!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
I was actually there at the very beginning when Stella first came up with this idea. I helped in the initial stages of the very first AAD con and was all set to go and have a blast, but then tragedy struck my family when my mother was diagnosed with cancer. I pulled out a couple of months before the big day and dropped out of the writing scene for a couple of years. Stella was a complete doll about all of it and I think my first actual attendance at AAD was in Philadelphia, which was awesome.

So where will attendees be able to find you at AAD? Do you hang out in the bar? The lobby? Or are you the one who throws parties in their room?
I’m pretty much all over. I go to the events, love being on panels, and this year, I’m actually one of five sponsors of the luncheon on Thursday, so don’t miss it! :)

If you were to suggest one of your books to the AAD attendees, which book would it be?
I would probably suggest my recent release, KING’S THRONE, because it’s designed to be read as a standalone and does a good job of introducing readers to the ongoing world of my paranormal creatures. At this point, several years in, a few of my paranormal series (Tales of the Were, Brotherhood of Blood, String of Fate, and the related mini-series Redstone Clan, et al) are all converging. Everything will come to a head later this year with the release of the follow-up to KING’S THRONE, titled JACOB’S LADDER and then the final Redstone Clan book - MATT. It’s a good time to dive right in and get acquainted with the world of shifters, vampires, mages and even a few fey!

Tell us about the party you’re hosting at AAD!
The lunch on Thursday will be sponsored by myself, Becca Jameson, Delilah Devlin, Sasha White and Opal Carew. We are bringing free books (of course), as well as some dynamite swag that we’ll be giving away in little mini shopping bags as guests arrive. Don’t miss it!

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
Usually just a Coke, or if I’m feeling frisky, we can add a dash of Captain Morgan to that! ;-)

AAD Featured Author Interview: Susana Ellis

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Susana Ellis!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
Yes

What made you want to come to AAD?
My friend Selene Grace Silver was invited as a featured author, so I signed up too. She writes contemporaries and paranormals. I write historicals.

Do you have a book coming out before AAD you want the attendees to know about?
I’m currently revising a Regency time travel that will be submitted to Sourcebooks, along with a series starring my Regency time-travelling lady, Lady Pendleton.

Tell us about the parlor game you’re hosting!
It’s a “Concentration” type memory game where you have to match Regency people and terms. Prizes include some great souvenirs from my recent trip to London!

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
Club soda, LOL! But I wouldn’t say no to a piña colada!

Everyone loves the conference costumes. Can you give any hints about what to expect?
I’m a Regency author. What do you expect? My mother made it and everyone who sees it wants one. But she insists it was a one-time thing.

SWAG. We all love SWAG! What cool stuff are you bringing?
Buttons, pens, mugs, magnets. collector cards, bookmarks.

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?

AAD Featured Author Interview: Candace Blevins

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Candace Blevins!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
Yes, and I’m thrilled! I can’t wait to meet readers and other authors.

What made you want to come to AAD?
I’ve heard such great things about how a smaller event allows authors to really connect with readers, and I’m excited to have the opportunity.

Do you have a book coming out before AAD you want the attendees to know about?
The sequel to Safeword: Matte, titled Safeword: Matte - In Training, will be out June 20th, and the next book, No Safeword: Matte - The Honeymoon, is currently scheduled to release the Friday of AAD, but I’m talking to my publisher about possibly releasing it a week earlier.

If you were to suggest one of your books to the AAD attendees, which book would it be?
Depends on their kinks. Safeword: Quinacridone deals with objectification, while the two Davenport books delve into TPE, and Safeword: Rainbow strives to find a balance between power exchange and everyday life. Safeword: Matte is my least extreme, but is still a lot more intense than the average BDSM books.

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
Jack and Coke.  I’m part Irish, and I’m a Tennessee girl.  :)

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
I’ll have all of them, but will have the most of Safeword: Matte, since the three sequels are releasing this summer and fall. I hope to have hard copies of the sequels, but the timing will be tricky.

Safeword: Rainbow
Safeword: Matte
Safeword: Davenport
Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon
Safeword: Quinacridone
Safeword: Matte – In Training (June 20)
No Safeword: Matte - The Honeymoon (August 8)

And I should have an excerpt available for:
No Safeword: Matte - Happily Ever After (Fall 2014)

AAD Featured Author Interview: Leigh Ellwood

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Leigh Ellwood!

Is this your first year attending AAD?

No, this is my third AAD, I think. I attended the first one in New York and I know I went to

the one in Philly. Actually, this is my fourth one, because I went to the second one, too.

What made you want to come to AAD?

I like AAD because it is more intimate than other romance cons I’ve attended. There are

panels that discuss LGBT romance, which you don’t find in other places, that feature actual

LGBT authors. I like, too, that it’s reader-focused and gives readers the chance to meet the

authors they admire.

So where will attendees be able to find you at AAD? Do you hang out in the bar? The

lobby? Or are you the one who throws parties in their room?

I am co-sponsoring a lunch, so definitely look for me there. I have a few panels as well, but

basically you’ll find me all over the place, checking out the hotel and other happenings at

AAD. Feel free to tap me on the shoulder and say hi.

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?

Scarlett O’Hara – Southern Comfort and cranberry with a twist of lime. J

SWAG. We all love SWAG! What cool stuff are you bringing?

For the lunch I’m making knitted coffee cup sleeves. Take them to Starbucks or wherever

and you don’t have to worry about those cardboard things. Drink your coffee, help the

environment, and hopefully the button attached will remind you of me. J

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign

and sell?

I have copies of my latest paranormal duology, LOVE IS BLISS, available. Panther shifters!

AAD Featured Author Interview: Brandy Walker

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Brandy Walker!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
No but it is my first year coming as an author and a featured author at that!

What brings you back to AAD?
A lot of things bring me back. A chance to hang out with my friends, see a new city and meet new people. I always have a great time at AAD. There are a tons of parties, panels and people. This year, for me, it is all about the readers and getting to know them.

Do you have a book coming out before AAD you want the attendees to know about?
Fingers crossed I will have the next Tiger Nip book, FINDING MORE, completed and ready for the masses. I’m attempting to get it written while doing a military move. WA to VA. Its long and grueling. House hunting, unpacking, finding all of my goodies.

If you were to suggest one of your books to the AAD attendees, which book would it be?
If you haven’t read me, then CRAVING MORE. If you have but you’ve only read my paranormal then I suggest checking out my contemporary romance CAUGHT IN THE MOMENT. My husband is Airborne qualified and has been since the early days of his Army career (he’s been in for just about 21 years now). I had that brilliant idea to set up a contemporary world involving skydiving. The first book introduces you to the Chute Shack and gang.

Tell us about the party you’re hosting at AAD!
I’m joining the always fabulous Melissa Schroeder Open Bar. If you’ve been to AAD before then you know the open bar I’m talking about. The one where you get drinks and a chance to hang out with other readers and the hostess with the mostest. This year Mel invited other authors to join her and I’m one of them. I’ve heard word that Tilly Greene will be one of the hostesses as well.

What panels will you be on at AAD?
Panels….let me think. I’m doing the Sports panel and will be talking about my Freefall series. I’m also doing the Cover Art panel. Before I started writing I was doing personal assistant work for Melissa Schroeder, Heather Long and Lissa Matthews. I started working up promo and doing covers. My biggest client being Mel. You may have seen some of my work; The Santinis, the Semper Fi Marines, the Sinfully Supernatural box set, to name a few. I’ve also done all of my self-published books.

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
Jack & Coke. It is my drink of choice. My poison. My most favorite ever. If it was a shot though then I love Buttery Nipples.

SWAG. We all love SWAG! What cool stuff are you bringing?
Remember that move I talked about earlier….I’m hoping I’ll have time to order a few things before the conference. Right now I have Tiger Nip trading card packs and pens.

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
As of right now I’ll have Craving More, Claiming More, and the con only book Dallas & Kacie. I hope to have my first two Freefall books there as well.

Where can readers find you?
I’m all over the place and not just in my daily life.

AAD Featured Author Interview: Marianne Morea

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Marianne Morea

What brings you back to AAD?
Last year Authors After Dark Savannah Nights was my first real convention. I say my first REAL convention because I had no idea how a convention could truly be when readers are the main focus! RT is fun, but it seems more author-centric…kind of like RWA. I attended UndeadCon in New Orleans, hosted by the Anne Rice Vampire Lestat Fan Club, but that was more ball-oriented, with author stuff thrown in as an aside. AAD IS AMAZING! I was floored at how engaged the readers were at AAD last year so I had to come back! Last year I was lucky enough to land a last minute sponsorship and hosted a table at the Vampire Ball, BUT this year I am all over…panels, parties and readers to hang with! **shivers** I can’t wait!

So where will attendees be able to find you at AAD? Do you hang out in the bar? Lobby? Or are you the one who throws parties in their room?
Hell yes, I hang out in the bar, the lobby…anywhere you can find people! I love to laugh and talk, so look for me and my signature Lemon Drop Martini and join me for a drink! I’m also a big time foodie, so come on down! The more the merrier!

Do you have a book coming out before AAD you want the attendees to know about?
I do. I have the 2nd bridge novella in my Cursed by Blood Series! The new novella is entitled, Power Play, and it will release the weekend of AAD. There are four full novels to the series, and these ‘bridge’ novellas give readers an off-page sneak peek into lives of my characters— what makes them tick, giving an added value look into the scenarios readers find in the novels. We first meet Rissa Leighton, sister-in-law to the Alpha of the Brethren at the start of the Cursed by Blood Series, and although her story progresses along with that of the main characters, it remains in the background. In Power Play, the story line focuses Rissa and how she must leave the life she knows and the family she loves to follow the man of her dreams into his world…a world as cold and inhospitable in terrain as it is to those they consider outsiders.

Normally available in eBook only, the novellas will be available at AAD in a Limited Edition Paperback Bundle that includes the four full novels! Plus, if my muse decides to cooperate, I may also have another stand-alone book debuting, a Paranormal Romance called, My Soul To Keep. Here’s the teaser tagline: Temptation. A powerful trap while trying to redeem your soul and storm the gates of heaven.

If you were to suggest one of your books to the AAD attendees, which book would it be?
That’s a hard question to answer since my series is linked… If readers want an adult story line I would suggest reading both Hunter’s Blood and Twice Cursed of my Cursed by Blood Series…the first is the short introduction to the series and the other is book two which picks up right where the first leaves off. But if readers enjoy Teen/YA, then I would suggest Hollow’s End…it’s my Teen Romantic Suspense that builds on the Legend of Sleepy Hollow with an added historic twist.

Tell us about the party you’re hosting at AAD!
Parties! Parties! Yup…I am hosting a couple! Come hang out and grab some fun swag at the Paranormal Party, but don’t forget to come and join me at the Girls Night Out Vegas Pre-Party highlighting the bundles books and sizzling stories of the GNO Bundled Series! Lots of games and swag for those who attend! I’ll also be at the Mad Tea Party... in costume, of course!

I heard through the grapevine you’re sponsoring a table at the Sins & Virtues ball. Tell us...
Yes I am! I have been peppering the Attendee Page with my plans for my WRATH Table! Lots of specialty swag for my table of fans, plus you know the old saying…Hell Hath No Fury? Anyone is welcome to bring a pic or a name of someone karma forgot to bitch-slap and we’ll be happy to do the honors for her! Do you Voodoo? Yes we do! LOL!

What panels will you be on at AAD?
I am lucky to be participating on four terrific panels this year: Urban Fantasy, Humor, Young Adult, and Romantic Suspense… I have to say I think my favorite is going to be humor, because I LOVE to build my quirky sense of humor into my characters…

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
Like I said earlier…Lemon Drop Martini! Extra Sweet with a big kick!

SWAG. We all love SWAG! What cool stuff are you bringing?
Voodoo Dolls, Anger Management mugs, Logo’s cups and bags, soaps, lotions, candles, drawstring backpacks…LOTS OF STUFF!

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
I will have all my books with me PLUS the limited edition bundle just for AAD… readers can treat themselves to one or two, or they can get the whole series in a specially priced bundle!

AAD Featured Author Interview: Kallypso Masters

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Kallypso Masters!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
No, I first attended in 2012 NOLA, but not as a featured author. However, I hosted a brunch for 16 fans on Sunday and had a great time having readers fangirl on me thru the week. (The first book in the Rescue Me Saga had only been published a year earlier and I kept pinching myself that anyone had read my books. <g>) In 2013 Savannah, I had the honor of being a featured author and had a blast. This year will be my last for a few years (I’m on a mission to go to all regions of the country to meet as many readers as possible), so I plan to make it the best one yet.

AAD is one of my favorite reader/author get-togethers. I love that the panels are all Q&A and reader-driven and that there are so many opportunities to just hang out with readers informally. This year, tho, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and hosting one of the Patience “virtue” tables at the Sins and Virtues Ball. I’ve got all kinds of goodies and swag lined up for those who signed up to join me at my table! I plan to go out with a bang! I’ve also just signed on for a fun event after the Bookies with nine other BDSM Romance authors which will be held Thursday night on the Terrace--lots of prizes there, too!

So, you’re sponsoring a table at the Sins & Virtues ball. Tell us more!
Yes, I chose Patience. Ha! I think I chose that one because I have the MOST patient readers in the world and wanted to reward some of them. Lord knows Kally doesn’t have any patience! (Just ask my awesome assistant Charlotte or my ever-patient hubby if you catch him Tuesday night or Wednesday morning before he heads off to hang out with a friend that week.) But Damian Orlando (Nobody’s Perfect) has patience galore, so I think the table will have some elements reminding me of themes and symbols from that story.

Charlotte and I started shopping for the table decorations on December 26 (when all that glittery Christmasy stuff was half off!). I still spent more than $500, I think. (I had a new release and no concept of money at the time. Haven’t looked at the receipts since.) Most of what we plan to decorate with will be given away that night--including the centerpiece which is a three-foot (or so) tall sparkly and lighted tower. It’s totally over the top as far as decorating goes, so I’ll be on my feet all evening so I can talk with everyone at my table because I sure won’t be able to see all of them. lol But I remember last year’s decorations and don’t want to be found lacking! (NOTE: This centerpiece needs to go home with someone who drove to the event unless they want to ship it home!

Everyone at my table will receive a special napkin holder (a kissing crystal!) and there also will be some special giveaways pertaining to my books. It will be an awesome evening! Now if only I knew what to wear to signify Patience! I could come in Savannah’s Princess Slut tank and short-shorts outfit, but, um, no. Just no. Time to do some more shopping! Everything I have is black, but I’m guessing I need to go with white or pastel for a virtue. Please send suggestions to me via private message on Facebook or at my e-mail (kallypsomasters @ gmail.com)! I’d much rather decorate the table than myself!

So where will attendees be able to find you at AAD? Do you hang out in the bar? The lobby? Or are you the one who throws parties in their room?
Um, Savannah police were called to my hotel suite three times last year because my in-room party held too many people laughing and talking in my room. (It was only at 10 p.m. or so--yeah, I had a party pooper next door). This year, I am planning on sticking to the bar or lobby areas (or having meals with readers when time permits). I’m also one of 10 BDSM authors who will be having a fun event Thursday night (after the Bookies) on the Terrace. Come up and see me after any of my panel sessions for some premium swag and to say hello! I also try to hang out in the hallways after a panel for anyone who couldn’t chat with me during a session (unless I have another event to rush to). And my readers can PM me on Facebook or via Charlotte Oliver, my awesome assistant, if they can’t find me. I’m still making plans for my “down” time during AAD, but those times always include hanging out with readers! I’ll be there until we load up on Sunday morning to head home!

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
Any fruity drink with rum. Or fruity margaritas. Or sangria. Okay, anything fruity with rum or tequila or sweet wine. But I wouldn’t turn down a Sex on the Beach, either (after it was made popular with my readers by Damian in Nobody’s Perfect).

SWAG. We all love SWAG! What cool stuff are you bringing?
For free swag, my backscratcher/shoehorn pervertible has been all the rage at other events this summer. They’re red with the saying “Kallypso Masters--perverting one vanilla reader at a time.” Also new this year is my red stylus that reads “Ka-thunk!(™).” And the pink pens emblazoned with “Embrace your Inner Princess Slut.” I also will be giving away pens, Masters Brat buttons, Kally’s friend buttons (only given to readers I meet face to face, but sometimes you have to remind me if I get caught up in the conversation), “Eyes on Me” hand fans, and whatever else I decide to order between now and then! And for sale at $15 each, I’ll have my “Ka-thunk” basic tees in red and black and my red “Master Marc can put me in culinary bondage anytime” tees and aprons.

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
My books are very much entry-level kink (and the Rescue Me Saga doesn’t so much revolve around a kink club as is does around the people who happen to belong to or run a club but focuses on their lives outside the club). I’ll be signing the first four books in my Rescue Me Saga: Masters at Arms & Nobody’s Angel, Nobody’s Hero, Nobody’s Perfect, and Somebody’s Angel. Sorry, Nobody’s Dream won’t be out yet.

AAD Featured Author Interview: Carly Phillips

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Carly Phillips!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
Yes and I am so excited! And beyond overwhelmed and nervous.

What made you want to come to AAD?
I’ve heard so many great things about the conference itself and the readers who attend, I wanted to go and experience it for myself. That and since becoming an all Indie author, meeting with readers is another goal of mine. I appreciate that they spend their hard earned money on my books and this is a way to give back.

So where will attendees be able to find you at AAD? Do you hang out in the bar? The lobby? Or are you the one who throws parties in their room?
Hiding in a corner! OK seriously … when I’m not babbling somewhere nervous and overwhelmed, I’ll be at the Erotic Authors Panel, and I’m hosting an event with Julie Kenner, Erika Wilde, Rebecca Zanetti and Stacey Kennedy! Beyond that … just come find me!

Do you have a book coming out before AAD you want the attendees to know about?
Yes! I have DARE TO LOVE, the story of Ian Dare and his single minded pursuit of the woman he can’t get out of his head, and DARE TO DESIRE out now, a hot hot hot story about Alex Dare, the professional football player who finds out there’s more to life than the game and has to pull out all the stops to go after the woman he loves (and hurt before). This Dare to Love series is as close to erotic romance as I’ve ever written and I love writing it. Then on July 15, DARE TO SURRENDER, an Invitation to Eden release AND a Dare to Love series book comes out. The cool thing is this book stands alone in both series it’s part of - so no worries about reading what came before or after. Same for all my books.

If you were to suggest one of your books to the AAD attendees, which book would it be?
DARE TO LOVE or DARE TO DESIRE - both out now, both can introduce you to my newest series and give you a taste of where Carly Phillips’ writing is headed now. It’s a stretch from my small town SERENDIPITY series for Berkley which were hot but not smoking/burning/sizzling as these are. I’m hoping new readers will give these new ones a chance!

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
Club soda.  DONT’ JUDGE ME, LOLOL! I’m not a big drinker. Migraines if I do. But I’m all for bar hanging and having fun.

SWAG. We all love SWAG! What cool stuff are you bringing?
Well, Erika Wilde and I are donating the conference bags. I also plan to bring luggage tags, DARE TO LOVE / DESIRE/SURRENDER to pins … bookmarks, pens, lots of things!

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
I’m still deciding but I will definitely have DARE TO LOVE and DARE TO DESIRE. I’m not sure about DARE TO SURRENDER. Probably!

AAD Featured Author Interview: Dawn Marie Hamilton

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Dawn Marie Hamilton!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
Yes, and I’m super stoked.

What made you want to come to AAD?
I’ve heard such wonderful things from other authors about the event. I’m looking forward to meeting and interacting with readers.

So where will attendees be able to find you at AAD? Do you hang out in the bar? The lobby? Or are you the one who throws parties in their room?
You’ll find me in the bar, hanging in the lobby, at the paranormal party, anywhere there is good conversation and laughs.

Do you have a book coming out before AAD you want the attendees to know about?
I’m between releases. Sea Panther, the first book in my new Crimson Storm series, released in late March and is the book I’m really excited about. “Vampire shifters, curses and time travel, combining them all together and you get a thrilling and refreshingly different paranormal romance.” ~ Night Owl Reviews top pick.

If you were to suggest one of your books to the AAD attendees, which book would it be?
So hard to suggest just one. Sea Panther if they like smexy Scottish vampire shifters. Just Beyond the Garden Gate if they like alpha-male Highlanders, faeries, and time travel.

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
Red Wine. I adore pinot noir, and also like cabernet and merlot. Add a piece of Belgian chocolate and I’m in heaven.

SWAG. We all love SWAG! What cool stuff are you bringing?
I’ll have the usual postcards and bookmarks and chocolate and such. There also will be some darling beaded and beribboned bookmarks for special giveaways--the Sea Panther bookmarks have little Florida panther charms. The rest will be a surprise. I love good surprises. Don’t you?

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
Two from the Highland Gardens time travel romance series with faeries--Just Beyond the Garden Gate and Just Once in a Verra Blue Moon. And the first book in my new Crimson Storm paranormal series--Sea Panther.

AAD Featured Author Interview: Sasha White

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Sasha White!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
Nope. It’s my third, and I love it more and more each year.

What brings you back to AAD?
It’s the perfect sized event. Large enough that there are always new attendees, yet small enough that I get a chance to really connect with people. Stella makes sure to stack her events with authors who truly care about readers, and this makes the events very personable, with a close-knit community feeling. I love that I get to see many of the same readers and authors each year, as well as always meet new ones.

Do you have a book coming out before AAD you want the attendees to know about?
A couple actually. *grin*
Wicked Game and Too Close are novellas that were recently released and that I’ll be signing. They’re my first forays into romantic suspense, each with a super sexy edge.

I’m also one of the authors in the MASTERED box set, and will have print copies of my story (Chrysalis: a Dungeon Novella) from that to sell & sign at AAD.

Tell us about the party you’re hosting at AAD!
On Wednesday Night Joey W. Hill and I are doing our Erotic Trivia Hour again this year. It’s sort of a cross between Jeopardy and Family Fued with volunteers from the audience. Everyone has a chance to win stuff, and it was so much fun last year we had to make it an annual event. It’s it’s only an hour long, but it’s a blast (and we give the first 75 people in the door a goody bag they’ll enjoy)

What panels will you be on at AAD?
I’m super excited about all the panels I’m on this year.  The Romantic Suspense and  Anti-Heros panels are new for me and I can’t wait to talk about my latest releases ( Wicked Game and Too Close  ) as well as share some exclusive snippets for what’s to come in the next year.  I’m also part of the BDSM:Different Strokes for Different Folks, and I always have a good time talking naughty stuff with the authors and readers at those. ;)

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
Patron or Don Julio. I love me some tequila.
