AAD Featured Author Interview: Susana Ellis

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Susana Ellis!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
Yes

What made you want to come to AAD?
My friend Selene Grace Silver was invited as a featured author, so I signed up too. She writes contemporaries and paranormals. I write historicals.

Do you have a book coming out before AAD you want the attendees to know about?
I’m currently revising a Regency time travel that will be submitted to Sourcebooks, along with a series starring my Regency time-travelling lady, Lady Pendleton.

Tell us about the parlor game you’re hosting!
It’s a “Concentration” type memory game where you have to match Regency people and terms. Prizes include some great souvenirs from my recent trip to London!

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
Club soda, LOL! But I wouldn’t say no to a piña colada!

Everyone loves the conference costumes. Can you give any hints about what to expect?
I’m a Regency author. What do you expect? My mother made it and everyone who sees it wants one. But she insists it was a one-time thing.

SWAG. We all love SWAG! What cool stuff are you bringing?
Buttons, pens, mugs, magnets. collector cards, bookmarks.

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
Cotillion Christmas Celebrations, an anthology of Regency Christmas novellas including my A Twelfth Night Tale.

Where can readers find you?

Claiming More is off KDP Select

Hello everyone! This is my first post here. I recently became a Featured Author and I'm so excited. Thank you Stella!!!

Claiming More, book 2 in my Tiger Nip Series is finally off KDP Select. I've loaded it up to Barnes & Noble and All Romance eBooks. Kobo has been a bit funky lately so I'm waiting on that. I'm also still waiting for iTunes/iBooks to approve my books to go up there.

I'll be signing Claiming More at the big author signing event.

Sampson Hart has known Mary Jane Poppy for ten years. She’s his sister’s best friend, business partner, and has had a crush on Sam for years. When the mating pull hits him, he’s ready to claim her as his own. Given their history, it should be simple. Right?
MJ has loved Sam since she was fifteen. But being a hybrid, she’s been told all her life she won’t have a mate. When Sam proclaims she belongs to him, she doesn’t believe it; the mating pull isn’t there, and Sam isn’t meant to be hers.
Running back home to escape the love she feels for Sam, MJ agrees to become the companion of a man who lost his mate and has three young children to raise. It is the only way to set Sam free to find the one he is truly meant to be with.
Will Sam be Claiming More or will the one he desires the most find comfort in the arms of another?

Bianca D'Arc Book News

Lots of news since I last posted here... First, the last of my military romances with zombie bad guys from Brava is coming out on July 26th. It's called DEAD ALERT and right now, for some odd reason, the print book is actually cheaper than the ebook on Amazon. Not sure why, but if you're interested in print, it's a good time to buy. LOL ;-) Here's a little bit about it:

For Emily Parkington, the thrill of flying charter planes for Praxis Air has lately been tinged with dread. Mysterious cargo flights and a high number of fatal crashes lead Emily to suspect something sinister behind the scenes. And if her new colleague is involved, Emily won’t hesitate to turn him in, in spite of Sam Archer’s sexy charm and irresistibly easy confidence.

Enemy or potential ally? Sam can’t be sure of anything where Emily is concerned, except how much he wants her. Immune to the zombie virus created through military research, Sam is working undercover to find out if Praxis is trafficking forbidden technology. It was a potentially deadly assignment even before he found himself distracted by a woman he scarcely knows. And when a “controlled” experiment goes horribly wrong, there will be no limit to the danger they both face…or how far he’s willing to go to save her…

There's more news... I have a new erotic SF trilogy starting on October 25th at Samhain Publishing. The first book is called HIDDEN TALENT and it follows the adventures of the psi Talented crew of the spy merchant ship, Circe. I'll give you a hint - pleasure shared among those with psi Talent increases and renews their power. ;-)

I'm also in the process of signing a contract for my next werewolf book that ties in with the BROTHERHOOD OF BLOOD novellas. It'll be called BROTHERHOOD OF BLOOD: WOLF HILLS. It's the story of the last of the college friends, Sally, and Jason, the werewolf Alpha we first meet in the novella PHANTOM DESIRES. A lot of people have been waiting for this book, so I'm glad to finally get it in the pipeline to get it out there for your consumption!

A few other things are happening behind the scenes that I can't quite talk about yet, but suffice to say there's a lot in store for readers of The D'Arc Side! :D Hope to see you all at the AAD conference in a few weeks. I'm certain it'll be a blast!

WARRIOR'S HEART by Bianca D'Arc Releases Today!

It's not often that my turn to blog here cooincides with one of my book releases, so today's blog will be all about the new story... and maybe a few other things too. ;-)

First, WARRIOR'S HEART releases today in ebook from Samhain Publishing. WARRIOR'S HEART is a new version of an old story by the same name that was published in 2006 by a very small publisher that has since gone out of business. So if you weren't able to get the old version, here's your chance! This new version has been spiffed up quite a bit and I'm still very proud of this tale, which was always planned to be the first in a series, but with the publisher problems it got stalled. I'm glad to say the train is back on the rails now and hopefully more of these stories will be coming soon. Now a little bit about the story...

It's a paranormal featuring a military hero. Here's the blurb:

He’s home to claim the girl he never forgot…but more than war memories have changed him.

Gifts of the Ancients, Book 1

Hal’s best-friend status with Casey’s brother always meant that the one woman he wants is strictly off limits. But now that he’s back from a harrowing mission in the ancient Iraqi city of Babylon, all bets are off. The strangely mystical experience left him and his Special Forces team with a new appreciation for life—and strange new abilities they are only beginning to understand.

Casey never thought she’d have a shot with the strong, silent Green Beret. Something about him has changed, though, and old feelings have risen up, demanding an answer. And her answer is an unequivocal yes. Now, to break the news to her brother and hope it doesn’t come to blows.

Her brother’s reaction becomes the least of her worries when Hal singlehandedly stops a car from running her down, then falls into her arms, weak from some kind of strange reaction. Whatever went down in Iraq has changed Hal and made him a target of foreign agents who’ve found his one vulnerability…Casey.

Warning: This title contains dirty talk, sweaty carpentry sex and a sexy Special Forces super hero.

Get your copy today at MyBookstoreAndMore.com

I should also mention the print book that released earlier this month. GRADY'S AWAKENING is now available in print! Here's a little bit about that book:

An alien warrior discovers what it is to love…and to share.

Resonance Mates, Book 4

Alien super soldier Grady Prime’s missions routinely lead him in unexpected directions, but his latest assignment—to kill a rogue warrior—is far beyond routine. This time he meets a woman who embroils him in an adventure of the highest order. Love.

Gina has lived among aliens so long, she’s lost her fear of them. She is undeniably attracted to Grady, even though their respective duties force them apart. Then, on a mission to a far-flung outpost, an encounter with a man from her past leaves her torn between her flaming desire for Grady, and her still-simmering love for an old flame.

Jim and his group of human dissidents live in secret, away from alien patrols. He has responsibilities, and covert operations to manage. But when Gina re-enters his life, only one thing matters—being with her.

Brought together by chance, the three form an alliance that pushes the boundaries of desire and make unexpected connections that could save the human race from alien conquerors…

Warning: This book contains red hot alien loving, ménage a trois, super sexy alien soldiers, wicked fast martial arts masters, explicit language, explicit sex and explicit love. Always love.

Time for a new kind of hero!

My latest heroes aren't the traditional handsome alpha stud and yet they are in the eyes of the heroine.

Who could possibly be a new kind of hero?

Cyclopes

They are monsters from Ancient Greek and yet they aren't really all that bad.  They are the sons of Uranus [sky] and Gaia [earth] and were feared because they were so physically strong.  Because they were so much stronger than their father, he chose to lock them in Tartarus so they couldn't help seize power from him.  Unfortunately, while Cronus did take over and released them, he also sent them back to Tartarus because, like his father, he didn't want them to help seize power.  Third time is a charm for the Cyclopes and Zeus rescued them.  The proficiency the show in the forge was well respected and they made special items for immortals such as Hades [helmet of invisibility], Posiedon [trident] and Zeus [thunderbolts].

There are many Cyclopes, however, three brothers [Agres, Brontes and Steropes - my three heroes] in particular who are very important men and yet they were never given a chance to explore their softer sides.  Well, I changed that and gave them the opportunity to meet a woman who could do just that in "Hephaestus Lays Down the Law", and they've been with her ever since.  However, even though they live together and appear happy, all is not roses in the relationship.  The brothers have never felt such joy with a woman before and she is about to leave them unless they figure out how to keep her.

It's past time for Cyclopes to love and be loved and they're given the chance to do just that with "Cyra's Cyclopes", the fourth installment in the Mythological Messes Redux series.

You think you know all about Cyclopes by reading about them in Homer's Odyssey, but there is so much more to them than that one incident.

So, can a one eyed giant be a sexy and caring lover?  Absolutely!  Can three? Phrew, it's a red hot yes!  Pick up a copy of "Cyra's Cyclopes" and enjoy the trio finding their way through new territory - love.

New in Print & Other News

INFERNO is now in print! Here's a little bit about it...

A forbidden union forged in love-and tempered in hellfire.

One last task and Megan will be free of the debt of honor owed by her family. Spying on Dante, a powerful vampire with questionable friends, sounds simple enough. But her mission is complicated by the fact she's got something every vampire wants-tangy, powerful, werewolf blood.

It's easy to capture his attention. The hard part will be getting out with her heart -- and soul -- intact. Not to mention her life, thanks to a crazed bomber.

Dante isn't the kind to forgive or forget easily, especially the grudge he holds against werewolves. Still, he is instantly drawn to the injured lone wolf in his care. When he and his friend Duncan treat her wounds, they discover something that marks her as much more than she seems.

The mark is a neon sign warning to be careful, but Dante can't help himself. He wants her and nothing will stand in his way. Not her species. Not his. Not the strange woman who keeps trying to kill him.

Not even the magical poison in Megan's blood...

Buy in Print from Amazon - Buy in Print from B&N

INFERNO is more on the erotic side, with multiple-partner scenes and very hot paranormal action. My zombie series rides the knife edge of erotic a little more and seems to be winning readers over. Yes, it's true, zombies make excellent bad guys! Look out for my most recent zombie/military paranormal romance novel, ONCE BITTEN, TWICE DEAD in a bookstore near you!

Can the devil be a romantic hero?

While daydreaming, I wondered if Lucifer, Satan, the Devil, whatever you call him, I wondered if he could be a hero - a romantic hero with honest love and respect for a woman.  I didn't want it to be a man called Lucifer or a devil of a character who finds love, I wanted to rework the actual evil incarnate into a dreamboat.  A dreamboat who isn't a neutered version, but one retains some naughtiness that he embraced for an eternity.

It was a blast to flesh out someone with the worst reputation known to exist.  So, was I successful in the challenge I set out to fulfill?  I think so, but now you can judge for yourself.

Call Me Lucifer by Tilly Greene
Paranormal Erotic Romance/Bondage and D/s
Available through Whiskey Creek Press Torrid

He is much more than the horrific job title and now he needs to prove it to her!

Lucifer, the Prince of Darkness, works hard dishing out punishments and asks for little in return, until now. He's been waiting an eternity for a woman who would bring out his gentle side, his need to love and be loved in return. He’d started to wonder if she even existed but at last he’s found her, in a courtroom arguing for a tougher sentence.

After his first introduction to Nia Adams, a sexy petite firebrand, he spends all his time on the surface at her side. They have a serious relationship and he’s sure the emotion bouncing between them is love. Then she lies to him about how she feels.

While difficult to hear, the lie opens a door. It gives him the only chance he’ll ever have to show her who the man behind the horrific job title really is. And he takes it with both hands.

The first eBook in the Mythological Messes Redux series is FREE!

Mistakes aren't bad, they are often something that can be learned from, but what if they are really bad? Cruel. Whatever the original intentions may have been, it's time to set things right, no matter how difficult it is to make things right for everyone involved - mortal or immortal, they're all equal.

Today "Hephaestus Lays Down the Law" is free from All Romance and it also happens to be the first book in the series, although they don't need to be read in order.

It's time some of the ancient Greeks who were shafted in the original myths to be given a new ending.  They derve one that befits who they really were and not what the one thing that defined them.

Double Punch by Tilly Greene is OUT!

Mount Olympus is buzzing with activity - the challenge for immortality is on!

Castor and Pollux, universally known as the twins who aren’t really twins, have been existing amongst the stars as the Gemini constellation for years. Without any warning, Zeus pulls them from the sky, and offers both men a second chance at immortality. The challenge is simple: they have one year on Earth to find their true mates. Every type of woman crosses their paths and while they make up for lost time when it comes to seeking sexual gratification, none of their partners complete them. None, that is, until they meet the stunning woman who they both claim.

Anissa George knows how lucky she was to be adopted as a child from a Bhutanese orphanage. Her family heaped love and an understanding that there was nothing wrong with being different, while living life to the fullest. To do that, she puts an educational computer game concept together, and the company she wants to produce the game, took on her project. Once she settled the work issue, it was time to pay attention to her non-existent love life. Before she can look for a date, two men who fit her perfectly are there, asking her to choose one. Impossible.

WARNING: The fire starts with one on one loving and then the flames rage out of control when they become three.

Life, Death & New Books

I've been having a rough time lately. Some of you might know that my Mom was diagnosed with cancer in October '09. She died two days before Christmas and I've been in a fog ever since. My Mom and I were closer than most mothers and daughters. We went to graduate school together and even worked together from time to time. She traveled everywhere with me and vice versa. We had a lot of fun and I never expected her to leave me this soon. It came as a total shock.

Now I'm trying to figure out how to carry on. My life didn't just stop. I have contractul obligations to fulfill and books that are coming out whether I have the time or energy to promote them or not. So let me take a stab at telling you what's been going on in my writing life the past few weeks...

HALF PAST DEAD came out at the beginning of the month and seems to be doing well, though it's too early to really know for sure. If you haven't gotten your copy yet, please look for it in your local bookstore. The 2-author anthology contains the first in my military-paranormal (zombie) stories, called SIMON SAYS. The first novel in the series will be out in March and is called ONCE BITTEN, TWICE DEAD.

On the ebook front, CAT'S CRADLE just came out and will be in print at the end of this year. It's the first in a planned trilogy of big cat shifter stories and you can get it at most ebook sales sites right now or at MBAM.

Here's to a better 2010 for us all.

Mixing Things Up...

Dragons are perhaps my favorite characters to write. Why? They're playful, smart, strong and sort of mysterious. At least my dragons are. Then there are the dragon shapeshifters. My dragon princes are half human/half dragon. They've got all the cunning and power of the dragon and Alpha maleness to the Nth degree. Hubba hubba. ;-)

As it happens, I have a new dragon book coming out in ebook formats on the 17th. It's called DRAGON STORM and it's not only a fantastical visit to my dragon world, but it's also a dimension-travel tale that brings twin dragon princes to our modern world where they meet their destined mate (yes, it's a very naughty menage!) and bring her back to their medieval-ish world. Yes, I'm really mixing it up in this book! It will be in print from Samhain Publishing sometime next year.

But I've got something even more daring coming at the end of next month. Zombies. Yep, I said zombies! Not a word you'd normally associate with romance, but like I said, I really like to mix things up. ;-) I'll post more about it next time, but keep an eye out for a duology called HALF PAST DEAD from Kensington Brava. It's my first-ever release from a big "NY" publisher and it contains the novella that will launch a series of military paranormal romances I'm calling Guardians of the Dark.

The first novel in the series will release in March, titled ONCE BITTEN, TWICE DEAD. The heroes in the series are all special ops military dudes and their task is to fight the zombies alongside some cool women who come into their lives. The heroine of the first novella is a Navy doctor. The heroine of the first novel is a county cop. There will be at least three more of these stories - one more novella that will release later in 2010 and two more novels.

Zombies may not sound sexy, but believe me, the men who fight them are super hot. *fanning self* When I was asked to write about zombies, my first thought was "Huh?" But then I thought about it a bit and I realized it was the next logical step for the paranormal genre. It pushes the boundaries, which is something I'm used to doing and it was definitely a challenge. Hopefully you'll like the mix of menacing zombies and heroic protagonists who are tasked with saving us all. I wouldn't call these books "horror" but they definitely have some suspenseful moments here and there, in between a whole lotta romance.

I can't wait to hear what you all think of not only the zombies, but my latest dragon adventure. Have I gone too far mixing things up yet? LOL.

New Books from Bianca D'Arc

I've got two new releases this month! First, GRADY'S AWAKENING will be debuting on August 18th from Samhain Publishing.

It's the story of Grady Prime, an alien super soldier who is beginning to learn what it means to be human. The story brings him together with Gina, a martial arts champion and spy, and her other true mate, Jim, the leader of a ragtag band of human survivors. Together, the three of them figure out how to live and love in the post-apocalyptic world where only the strong survive. You can read an excerpt online by clicking here.

Then I have another menage story coming out later this month. It's a short story that will hopefully be the start of a new series. It's called TAG TEAM and it will be released by Total-E-Bound on August 24th.

TAG TEAM is the first of my Gemini Project stories. The Gemini Project is an experiment to produce psychically enhanced warriors, who are able to share their thoughts in teams of two. They are invaluable as special operators, but what happens when they fall in love?

Check them out if you get a chance! I'm also happy to show off the cover for my first Kensington Brava release, a 2-author anthology called HALF PAST DEAD, coming in January 2010. Isn't the cover awesome?

My story in the anthology is called SIMON SAYS and it features a military hero battling a medical experiment run amok. Zombies are attacking people in the woods near a military base and it's up to Simon and his ex-girlfriend, a Navy doctor, to stop the killing and bring the situation under control. Of course, they didn't count on falling in love along the way...

I'm busy writing my first full-length zombie novel right now. It should be out in March 2010 from Kensington Brava. More news on that as it becomes available. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the new books this month! And don't forget to check out the contest we're holding for an ebook reader. Details are on my blog.

CONFESSIONS OF A CONTEMPORARY AUTHOR

First, an admission. I'm a born worrier. I'll worry about anything, even things that no person in their right mind would be concerned about. For instance, my irrational fear of helium balloons flying away while I'm holding them. Yeah, I know. Crazy.

Anyway, in my writing I worry too about things that are at least a little more logical. Such as, are my characters realistic? Are their motives understandable? Do their actions follow what any reader would do in a similar situation in real life? Such are the pitfalls of writing straight contemporary romance. That is why I found writing paranormal such a refreshing change. Now, after writing and releasing "Erato" for Tease's print anthology Love's Immortal Pantheon I, and the short eBook for ARe "Eros' Valentine", the third story I've written in the paranormal erotic genre, Bacchanal, is no less thrilling for me as a writer.

I must confess that being able to create characters that have no qualms about anything was a very freeing experience for me. I find the ancient Greek gods fascinating. More, I found being able to write about sex without worrying about character motivation or social mores incredibly erotic. These all-powerful beings eat when hungry, sleep when tired and have sex when it pleases them. They are the walking, talking, breathing personifications of the id hidden inside all of us; those raw desires that we all suppress.

Attending the Authors After Dark event and being able to celebrate my paranormal works with others who love the genre will be a pleasure and I look forward to it greatly. Though unlike Dionysus in "Bacchanal" I won't be attending the parties oiled and nude except for a mask, I still intend on having a hell of a lot of fun.

I hope to see you there!
Cat

My newest god story, Bacchanal, released in eBook July 15th.

Mountains, Windmills & Rain

I've been traveling since the beginning of June from one end of the country to the other. I absolutely LOVE road trips, though I don't often get a chance to do things like this anymore. I've seen all kinds of mountains and vegetation, from scrub and tumbleweeds to giant pine trees. At the left is a picture I took out the window of my vehicle as we drove along, somewhere in Wyoming, I believe. One thing that was new was the sheer number of windmills in the midwest and mountains. They're everywhere! I like it.

I also got to see oversized trucks carrying one propeller blade at a time to where they're building even more giant windmills. One thing that really impressed me is the sheer size of these windmills. From a distance they really don't look as big as they are. When you consider that just one propeller blade is WAAAAAY longer than a normal 18-wheeler truck bed, and then realize there are three of these stupendously long blades on each windmill... well, these things are gi-normous!
Driving is fun but I'll be glad when this trip winds down. I've got books to write and two new releases - one in print and one in ebook - this month. So check out JACI'S EXPERIMENT in print this week in a bookstore near you, and my latest paranormal, INFERNO, in ebook on June 30th.

Oh, and I forgot to mention the rain! We had fun racing in between the raindrops in the midwest. One thing this suburbanite can't get over is the fact that you can SEE weather coming miles and miles away. It's really amazing stuff! I'm observing a lot that will probably show up in a book of mine at some point. LOL. Fun stuff! And it proves a point I made in my recent Samhellion newsletter article - writers never really go on vacation. We're always observing and learning, filing away experiences to use in our work! :)

RT, New Releases & New Sales

RT is next week and for those of you who plan to be there, be sure to look for all of the Authors After Dark. We've got a little shindig planned for Club RT and goody bags galore! I'm also moderating the Demons Unplugged panel with a bunch of the AAD sisterhood and we'll have special goodies to give away at that as well.

For those of you who aren't going to RT, you can be part of the event in a way... I plan to collect some goodies at the conference and make up little prize packages that I'll give away on my blog after I get home. So remember to take a look the last week in April for your chance to win.

Other than convention plans, I've have a few news items to report. First, FireDrake is now in pint! Here's a taste:

Drake faces his estranged family and the dragon he left behind. He finds more than even he bargains for when a young prince is kidnapped and it's up to Drake, his childhood friend and rival, Mace, a warrior woman named Krysta, and two young dragons to track him down. Saving the prince will restore Drake's family honor, but it could also bond him with the dragoness, her mate, and the lovely Jinn warrior woman who loves them all. Dare he take the chance?

Second, Phantom Desires was just released in ebook formats. It's the third in my vampire novella series and all three of the stories, One & Only, Rare Vintage and Phantom Desires, will go into a single print volume sometime early next year. Here's the tagline for Phantom Desires:

This time, the creature under the basement is real. And dead sexy.

Cool, huh? ;-) Yet, it sums up the book really, really well! LOL!

Now for new sales - I just signed the contract for Grady's Awakening, book 4 in my Resonance Mates series. It'll be out in ebook later this summer and in print next year. I also got a verbal okay on a new series of military/psychic/menage (m/f/m) stories I'm calling the Gemini Project. More news on that as it becomes available.

For now, I'm looking forward to getting the cover art for my next release, Inferno. The sequel to Lords of the Were will release in ebook on June 30th (next year in print). Here's the blurb for it:

Awards, Releases, Sales & Contests!

My turn to post today... it's been a rough few weeks with very high highs and very low lows. Typical of the publishing business, as I'm coming to learn.

So for the high points: an ARe Best Selling Author of the Year Award, two RORR Awards for two of my books - Davin's Quest and FireDrake - two Ariadne Awards nominations (please vote!), some Fantasm Award nominations (please vote here too!), a 2008 Reviewers Choice Award from eCataromance Sensual for FireDrake, and a couple of SAMMIE Awards for having books in the Top 10 Best Sellers of the Year for 2006 and 2007 as well as a Reader's Choice Award for 2008 for FireDrake.

My latest release, Rare Vintage, is currently in the #1 Best Seller position at MyBookstoreAndMore.com. If you haven't gotten your copy yet, I encourage you to check it out! It's the tale of the Master Vampire, Marc LaTour, and Kelly, the human woman destined to be his mate. She would give her to save his, but can he save her from himself?

Stella and I had a fun time running all over the Javits Convention Center here in NYC at the NY Comic Con a couple of weekends ago. It was great to see her and cool to witness the madness that is ComicCon. ;-) I've also been doing a lot of traveling to places with *gasp* no internet, which is a bummer, but otherwise having a grand old time in this cold weather.

I also sold a new book to Samhain Publishing. The title is Inferno and it's the sequel to Lords of the Were that lots of readers have been asking me about for the past year or two. I'm glad to finally get this out there (and get the readers off my back! LOL). It picks up where Lords left off, with the sexy bad boy vampire, Dante, and his fey knight friend, Duncan. They're in New York City and a pretty little lone wolf is spying on them. We begin edits shortly, so the book will probably be out this summer in ebook formats, then next year in print. I'll keep you posted, but you can check my website in a few days to catch the new page that will be going up for the book shortly.

FireDrake has been receiving a lot of awards lately and it will, in fact, be my very next print release, at the end of March. It's part of my Dragon Knights series, but it can definitely be read on its own and is meant to be the start of a new "series" of tales within the framework of the Dragon Knights world. It's a menage story featuring two knights and a gypsy spymaster who is destined to be their mate. And let's not forget the meddling dragons who fight alongside their knights! LOL. They play matchmaker in this one and do a damned fine job of it too. ;-)
FireDrake will be officially released on March 31st, but you can pre-order it now on Amazon, if you're so inclined.

I won't trouble you with the low points of the past few weeks, but believe me, they were pretty low. Unfortunately. But not to worry. I'm doing my best to keep a positive attitude and working my tail off on my next books. I have a futuristic to finish and am working on a new werecreature (bears this time) story for later in the year. Wish me luck!

Oh, and if you like to win free ebooks, visit my personal blog every Thursday this month for a new contest in my "Scorching February" promotion! Here's the link to the currently running contest. Hurry and enter! Next Thursday, there'll be something new up for grabs, so remember to visit! :)

Happy New Year!

The New Year is off to a busy start. I'm doing edits and proofing a galley while trying to polish my next novel for submission to my editor at Samhain. I've also got some manuscripts under consideration elsewhere, so wish me luck with that, okay? ;-)

But the year started slow and has been steadily getting busier and busier. Just the way I like it! I planned to spend the whole month on my blog talking about resolutions and goals. A few of us - readers, writers and other people - have gotten together on my blog to encourage each other and I've got a few guest bloggers every week, to help keep us entertained. Drop by if you have a chance and say hello!

Other than that, I'm gearing up for my next paranormal novella release on February 6th, Rare Vintage. The story has been expanded greatly from what it once was. In April, the last of my vampire novella re-releases will be out - Phantom Desires - and sometime later this year all three of the novellas will be gathered together into one print book under the "Brotherhood of Blood" banner.

I'm looking forward to having all three stories out again, and in much expanded form. They are now the way I wanted to write them so long ago. To give you some idea, the first of the trilogy - One & Only - started life as a 3,500 word short story. It's now somewhere around 25,000 words. My characters get to have last names now! LOL.

I also love the covers for all three ebooks and can't wait to see what the artist, Angela Waters, comes up with for the combined print cover. I expect it will be something in the same vein, but she always manages to surprise me a bit, so we'll see what she comes up with when the time comes. I'm sure it'll be just as lovely as the three she's already done.

So that's it for me. I'm writing, editing, proofing and all that other fun stuff. I'm busier than I've been in a while and I enjoy it, but it leaves precious little time for anything else. I think things will settle down a bit in a week or two, but until then, wish me luck! :)

FREE eBook & Other News

It's been a crazy couple of weeks. First and foremost, if you haven't read my first dragon book, Maiden Flight, go to Amazon NOW - while it's still free - and download it! It'll be free until this Sunday as part of a special promotion, so check it out fast!

Second, my vampire novella, One & Only just released in ebook formats. It will be in print sometime late next year, along with two other stories, Rare Vintage and Phantom Desires. Check it out if you like hot men with killer smiles. ;-)

In related news, my latest print book is doing very well. Sweeter Than Wine is a paranormal tale about a vampire, his new mate and their close friend who just happens to be a werecougar. It's in bookstores now. My next print release will be in late December - Book 2 of my futuristic, highly erotic, Resonance Mates series - Davin's Quest.

Aside from all that, I've been writing, writing, writing. Working hard on finishing up a few projects. I'm working on edits for Rare Vintage, finishing book 4 of Resonance Mates (Grady's Awakening is the title of that one) and expanding Phantom Desires to double its original size. Lots going on here!

Busy, Busy Bianca

This is a great time of year and things have been going very well, indeed! I got to hang with Jacki and a bunch of other great writers at Lora Leigh's RAW a few weeks ago, I just got back from a fantastic sci fi con and I'm looking forward to a new release in just a few weeks.

Oh! And Sweeter Than Wine comes out in print at the end of the month! It's a sexy paranormal where my cat-shifters and vamps meet. Here's a little bit about it:

Sweeter Than Wine by Bianca D'Arc
ISBN: 978-1-59998-981-5
Length: 232 Pages
Price: 12.50
Publication Date: October 28, 2008

An abused woman has the power to unite werefolk, fey and vampire against an evil that would see them all dead—if she can learn to love again.

Christy lies near death after a brutal beating by her estranged husband. Her preternatural friends reach a desperate conclusion: The only way to save her is to turn her. Sebastian steps forward to take on the burden of being her Maker.

For him it’s no burden at all. She draws him as no other woman has for centuries. With the help of a werecougar friend, Sebastian teaches Christy about her new life and abilities, making certain she is as strong as he can make her. Only then can she face her abusive ex-husband and put her old life behind her. But Christy’s ex-husband is involved in something more dangerous than any of them had guessed.

Vampire, were, and even a fey knight must work together to put an end to the threatening evil. To overcome her past, help keep the darkness at bay, and fight for a new life with Sebastian, Christy must draw on all of her new-found strength.

Will it be enough?

Warning, this title contains explicit sex, graphic language, ménage a trois, hot neck biting and werecougar stroking.

You can get more information about this book on the Samhain site, HERE, or you can even pre-order it from Amazon, HERE. In fact, all three of my upcoming print releases are already available for pre-order on Amazon. October is Sweeter Than Wine, December is Davin's Quest (Book 2 of my futuristic Resonance Mates series), and next March is FireDrake, my next Dragon Knights novel.
In keeping with the paranormal theme of the season, my next ebook release is a vampire story called One & Only. It'll be out in ebook formats on November 7th and is the first in a series of three vamp novellas that will be put together into a single print volume sometime next year. I'm very excited to see these coming out again. (They were previously released in much shorter versions by a publisher that is now out of business.) These new versions of the stories are much longer and more intense. I think (hope!) you'll like them!

For now, you can get more information on the Samhain site, HERE, but that URL will change once the book is released, so check it while it's hot! LOL. Of course, you can always find it on my site, HERE. And just to whet your appetite, here's a little bit about it:

ISBN: 978-1-60504-264-0
Length: Novella
Price: 3.50
Publication Date: November 7, 2008

A deadly crash changes the fate of one lonely vampire.

Vampire enforcer Atticus Maxwell stands at the edge of his own oblivion…until the faint heartbeat of a desperately wounded mortal woman calls him back. The terrible crash that almost took both their lives has brought him a charming, intriguing woman who just might give him a reason to live again.

Lissa was headed for a conference at a resort in a last-ditch attempt to find a job. Instead, on a rain-slick mountain road that almost killed her, she finds the love of her life. A love with the most eligible, reclusive vineyard owner in Napa Valley—one that isn’t quite human.

No barrier—not even breaking the news to Lissa’s friends—seems too great to hold back their blossoming love. Until they learn the accident that brought them together wasn’t an accident at all, but a murder attempt by an unknown enemy.

Atticus saved Lissa once. Can he keep her that way in the face of a renewed threat?

Warning: This book contains graphic language, hot neck biting, outdoor loving and a dangerous man with a killer smile.

The second of these stories, Rare Vintage, will be released in February and the third, called Phantom Desires, will come out sometime later in 2009. All three together make up the Brotherhood of Blood and will probably go into print under that title.

Now aside from that little commercial, I've been writing up a storm. I finished a cat-shifter urban fantasy novel for which I'm trying to find a home, and have nearly finished my next Resonance Mates book, called Grady's Awakening. It's been a busy time, but very productive. Now I'm looking forward to Halloween, how about you? ;-)
