Lonely!

Last year I got to attend the Romantic Times convention. It was SO much fun. I loved it! I'd hoped to go this year, but my husband's work schedule didn't allow for it -- which sucks because Columbus is within driving distance. *sobs*

So now I have to listen to all the people who are there having fun, and I'm stuck at home. *more sobs*

Yes, I'm feeling whiny. But the good news is that I do get to go to the Lori Foster event in June! Yay! So in June, I'll be the one tweeting about all the fun I'm having!

What about you? Do you get to go to any conferences this year? I'm still holding out for the Authors After Dark event...so we'll see!

Great News

Beyond the Darkness at last hit the shelves and I'm delighted that this week it hit the New York Times bestseller list at #19. The week before it was #21, so I was thrilled that it actually moved up the list :) When I first began the Guardian series it was just one book that I wrote for my own fun. I loved Buffy and I wanted to see if I could write about those delicious vampires :) Eventually I've added a whole host of Weres, fey, Sylvermyst, and of course, gargoyles!! It's been a wonderful ride and I've had nothing but joy in writing them!

I'm now working on Tane's story, and while he's tempermental and refuses to behave himself, I hope to have him headed toward my editor by the end of next month. Unfortunately my deadline means I won't be making RT or RWA conferences...actually I never seem to make them :( So if anyone is going I hope you'll keep us updated. Oh, and I donated a copy of my entire series to RT for a giveaway, so you might check it out :)

Happy reading,
Alex

Time for a new kind of hero!

My latest heroes aren't the traditional handsome alpha stud and yet they are in the eyes of the heroine.

Who could possibly be a new kind of hero?

Cyclopes

They are monsters from Ancient Greek and yet they aren't really all that bad.  They are the sons of Uranus [sky] and Gaia [earth] and were feared because they were so physically strong.  Because they were so much stronger than their father, he chose to lock them in Tartarus so they couldn't help seize power from him.  Unfortunately, while Cronus did take over and released them, he also sent them back to Tartarus because, like his father, he didn't want them to help seize power.  Third time is a charm for the Cyclopes and Zeus rescued them.  The proficiency the show in the forge was well respected and they made special items for immortals such as Hades [helmet of invisibility], Posiedon [trident] and Zeus [thunderbolts].

There are many Cyclopes, however, three brothers [Agres, Brontes and Steropes - my three heroes] in particular who are very important men and yet they were never given a chance to explore their softer sides.  Well, I changed that and gave them the opportunity to meet a woman who could do just that in "Hephaestus Lays Down the Law", and they've been with her ever since.  However, even though they live together and appear happy, all is not roses in the relationship.  The brothers have never felt such joy with a woman before and she is about to leave them unless they figure out how to keep her.

It's past time for Cyclopes to love and be loved and they're given the chance to do just that with "Cyra's Cyclopes", the fourth installment in the Mythological Messes Redux series.

You think you know all about Cyclopes by reading about them in Homer's Odyssey, but there is so much more to them than that one incident.

So, can a one eyed giant be a sexy and caring lover?  Absolutely!  Can three? Phrew, it's a red hot yes!  Pick up a copy of "Cyra's Cyclopes" and enjoy the trio finding their way through new territory - love.

New in Print & Other News

INFERNO is now in print! Here's a little bit about it...

A forbidden union forged in love-and tempered in hellfire.

One last task and Megan will be free of the debt of honor owed by her family. Spying on Dante, a powerful vampire with questionable friends, sounds simple enough. But her mission is complicated by the fact she's got something every vampire wants-tangy, powerful, werewolf blood.

It's easy to capture his attention. The hard part will be getting out with her heart -- and soul -- intact. Not to mention her life, thanks to a crazed bomber.

Dante isn't the kind to forgive or forget easily, especially the grudge he holds against werewolves. Still, he is instantly drawn to the injured lone wolf in his care. When he and his friend Duncan treat her wounds, they discover something that marks her as much more than she seems.

The mark is a neon sign warning to be careful, but Dante can't help himself. He wants her and nothing will stand in his way. Not her species. Not his. Not the strange woman who keeps trying to kill him.

Not even the magical poison in Megan's blood...

INFERNO is more on the erotic side, with multiple-partner scenes and very hot paranormal action. My zombie series rides the knife edge of erotic a little more and seems to be winning readers over. Yes, it's true, zombies make excellent bad guys! Look out for my most recent zombie/military paranormal romance novel, ONCE BITTEN, TWICE DEAD in a bookstore near you!

Confession Time!

Stella's been talking con clothes lately and it has me thinking about the bag sitting on the chair in the study.

It's an innocuous white plastic bag, but what's inside was a total whim, and a little outside my normal comfort zone. Short, tight, and full of ruffles skirt.

You see, while talking to my sister on the phone [both of us on mobiles in Targets 3000 miles apart - have you been in there lately? Maybe you've seen the skirt - black though.], she picked it out and I bought it. Now what do I do with it? I like it but have no idea what to wear with it or where to wear it.

HELP!

Anyone have any ideas or should I take it back...help this random shopper out.
