Follow me...

So I just lost an entire post. Goddamn browser. so this one is going to be a lot shorter, as im over it and cant rewrite the damn thing once again.

Feb has been pretty damn good. Great signing on the 7th, cant wait to do it again with the girls in September. Comicon was great as a fan. I got some great goodies, books and ARC's and comix and posters, and saw a bunch of great stuff including Jin from LOST and the lawyer from BSG. Yes it was fun.

(I was going to post pictures here but Yahoo and Firefox HATES me today!)

I'm not going into my issues with the publishing industry and Comi-Con except to say after sitting in on a few panels, I am convinced that there is NO ROOM for anything unique in NY publishing this year. a bunch of pubs have at least 4 books coming out about a PI that solves supernatural crimes and at least 4 UF books about a kick ass heroine that is written in the 1st person. I swear that's the majority of what is being offered for Publishing this year. Talk about flooding the market. When is NY going to get a clue that readers want other stuff?

So I have some good news, but to hear it, your going to have to follow us over to DUAL VOICES today.. Which is why this post is called Follow me. I would love to post it here, but DUAL VOICES doesn't get nearly as much love as it could... so I will announce there.

So... Follow me....

Stella, you are SUCH a tease!!! Great idea though - to make your blog like an Easter egg hunt. This is fun! And it was great hanging out with you at ComicCon. I totally agree about the dearth of unique books this year. There are just a few unique voices - the rest are all copycats jumping on the Buffy/UF bandwagon. It's amazing how few risk-takers there are in the world anymore.

Great idea and I like the comment about Easter egg hunt!
I love Lost and can't believe you got to meet Jin!! I can't wait to see where they go with that story line and what she does when she hears, will she shot Ben and never see him again or take the chance and let Ben live???
Onto the next blog, here we go....

Yahoo does suck sometimes. You know, I'm liking the treasure map quest you've got going on here. This is fun!

Hi, Stella!

I sympathize with your general opinions about NY publishing. But I'm not sure that simply having a book with a kick-ass heroine written in the first person is being derivative - that's more a style issue.

Of course I feel this way because I just released EXPOSURE, a novel with a kick-ass heroine written in the first person...! (With Stella's wonderful cover, BTW, in case anyone is interested!) Anyway, it's not from NY, and it was actually written almost four years ago but got hung up and then canceled with its first publisher.

So maybe I started the trend (yeah, right!)

Warmly,
Lisabet

This is exciting- a real life mystery to follow the clues to discover what possiblly could take three sites to inform us of.

I have to say when an author says "Follow me" I get in line. Isn't that what a story is, walking in their imagination.

I will check the other blog. As for NYC--guess that means they're trying to be safe with the economy. But as a reviewer of books here in Richmond posted on a blog they will have do change how they do things.
As for kick ass heroine, guess my new UF has one, but not in first person. LOL

I'm soo sorry that the computer isn't cooperating. I hate it when it does that to me. Don't worry my posts/comments are always shorter the second time too.

Hi Stella,
I love your ebooks, and would love to win The Eververse Series please, because the series titles sounds exotic, dangerously seductive and sinful. I'll bet it's very sexy too.
Thanks,
Tanya
