GB-Day

Well, the day has come. Surgery (for those not in the know, I am having Gastric Bypass Surgery) looms tomorrow morning at 11 am. I can tell you one thing, I am more nervous and excited than I have been about anything since Christmas morning when I was a kidlet. Time has started to crawl, so I figure that's the excitement. If it was nerves it would start flying by...or at least that's how I see it. I'll be in the hospital for two days, if all goes well, and my assistant Ryanne and my good friend Susan will be with me. I don't exactly have the kind of family where you'd expect them to show up and all that, though to be fair my sister is in Connecticut and she would be there if she could. I will try to log on as soon as I get home and will let you all know how things went.

I haven't heard anything about how Ecsatsy is doing out there in the wide world. Not that I am paying much attention. I have other things on my mind as you see. I have gotten some feedback from some of you all and I want you to know how much I truly appreciate that. After all, you are the ones that matter and you are the ones I want to hear from. So maybe you'll be kind to me and leave me some comments about Ecstasy. I only got 4 stars from Romantic Times Magazine this time. I guess that is still good, but I want to know what cost me that half a star. Am I just being too hard on myself? Maybe that's the nerves. Who knows! Anyway, I'll give away a signed copy of Ecsatsy to one lucky person who comments on this blog in any way about anything. I could use the entertaqinment while time tick tocks away. Sigh....it only took me five minutes to write this. Now what will I do??

Hugs and kitties,
Jacki

Hi Jacki,

Yeh happy day, the day's finally come! Well I wish you good luck with your surgery, I know everything will be fine and you'll end up feeling wonderful when its all said and done. So no more worries everything will work out just fine.
Ecstasy was amazing,OMG I absolutely loved it. I loved that Gideon played a role in this book, they're all so enjoyable I personally don't know why you lost that 1/2 star those crazy people. Can't wait for Magnus's story, don't want to share too much....plot spoiling and all. I Love that the Shadowdwellers mingle with the Nightwalkers!!!
Would love to hear from you when you're home and well.

Take Care,
Susie

Finished reading "Ecstasy" today.

Sorry, but I found it even worse than "Noah." Just can't seem to like characters who are promiscuous & kinky (pages & pages of it in icky details!). But then, you did say in "Ecstasy" :

"Sometimes we need to be allowed to make our mistakes and even to act like an ass." *g*

The best part I thought was the funny dialogues with Ashla, Trace, Gideon & Tristan.

Hope everything goes well with your surgery & afterwards. (& looking forward to more books like "Jacob" !)

Hey good luck with the surgery, i'm sure it will be fine. I haven't read ecstasy yet but i'm sure its great, I always like the characters because there believable enough to talk to. Not that I talk to imaginary characters...okay once but it was in a lecture and it was fantasy or a death for me, that man made archiac poetry torture and I used to like it, i'm not mentioning any names or judging anyone but I will say that the man is evil and shouldn't be allowed to talk to the outside world. I'd go so far to say that putting him in a hannibal like cell would not necessarily be a bad thing.

Good luck, Jacki! I know that everything will go well and after wards you'll be back up and running full speed in no time (though it may not seem like it at first, I know. I may not have had GB surgery before, but I have went under the knife for a tumor in my brain, so I understand a little bit of the anxienty and nervousness, and a bit of happiness too, that you are experiencing, knowing that you are almost there.)

I have not yet found a copy of Ectasy in my small local bookstore, but I am still waiting. I know that it is wonderful, and I have heard many a great things about the book so far. Can't wait to see what you have planned next!

Again, good luck, and hope to be able to read more posts from you again soon.

Hey Ms. Jacki, goodluck tomorrow and Happy New Year too. I just finished reading all your books (nightwalkers) last christmas vacation and i just have to buy all the books in the series after reading Damien, and i just promise myself to moderate in book buying because it has become expensive especially here in Manila but i just can't resist buying all your books. You are so good, hats off to you... It's a pity Ecstasy is not yet here in Manila, i cant wait. Good luck again tomorrow and God bless.

I found Ecstasy at the Borders and read it in one evening. I absolutely loved Trace and his dominant personality.
I was a bit put off by the level of abuse in the backstory for Ashla - the mother was interestingly creepy, but the brother was disturbing on a major level.
I adored your descriptions of Trace's natural dominance and his non-verbal communication. The dialogue is always my favorite part of your stories - the chemistry and banter between characters is lovely and the exchanges here were no exception. I was left wanting more of Trace's background story and more of his interaction with Mangus. I wanted to feel how he grew to be so much of an alpha male.
I really enjoyed the characters interacting with the cameo character near the end of the book.
I liked the revelation of Ashla's intention (the one she had a half dozen times) and her indecision that is described near the end of Chapter 9. It helped to justify her behavior, although I am sure some of your readers won't like it.
About your stars . . . If you look at the Romantic times reviews for one of my other favorite authors, Lora Leigh, you will notice that some of her books have gotten lower ratings from certain reviewers. Forbidden pleasure is a great book, better than some of her breed books, but it has a naive heroine and has dom/sub aspects, and it only got 4 stars from Susan Mobley. Her newer book Wild Card only got 3 stars from Jill Smith who had given Dangerous Games, an earlier book in the same series 4 1/2 stars. The main difference in those two books was the later book had more descriptions of torture of the main character.
Anyway, I keep losing my google username, so I can't sign in.
Hope everying is going well.
