I'm in Hell

A lot has gone on since the last time I blogged. The main focus of my life at the moment is food...or rather a lack thereof. And I don't think it's a situation that's going to change any time soon. I am currently on a liquid diet in preparation for my bariatric surgery. Today is day three and believe me, be very glad you don't live with me because boy howdy I am a bitch! Cranky as the day is long drinking these diet shakes and going postal if something so much as blinks at me the wrong way. I feel bad for my cats because they are the only critters around here at bitch central.

On the business end of things, ECSTASY is slated to hit the shelves December 30th. It's book one in my new series and I think you are going to enjoy it. And I am going to announce something here and now just to all of you all. I decided to wrap up things a little better in the Nightwalker series and am 1/3 of the way through book six. I wanted to stop at book five and deal with Ruth much later down the line, but the feedback from you all, my adoring readers, made me change my mind. Besides, I got this great idea! And, of course, we needed to give one last person a romance...just to teach her smart ass a lesson. Can you guess who it is?

Oh! I almost forgot to tell you! Noah has been nominated for the Romantic Times Best Contemporary Paranormal!! Yay NOAH!!

I am in negotiations for a new contract, I am selling a series that has nothing to do with the Nightwalker world and a couple of novellas to boot. You won't see any of these for a year yet, but I thought you might want to know.

Back on the home front, one of my kitties had a seizure. It was awful. I have never seen anything like it. I was a total wreck! I've seen adults have seizures, and to me it was no big thing because I know it's temporary and it's not hurting them and all that other medical logic, but the minute it was one of my babies I was utterly hysterical. His blood work was basically normal when I took him to the vet the next day and now I have to bring him to a specialist just to check and make sure there's nothing else going on. Needless to say, I am a very overprotective mommy these days. Plus, I'm finding it hard to kick him off when he's up in my face and being a mooch for attention, even if I am working.

I am not getting much work done. I've discovered the World of Warcraft. Which is good, believe me. I need something to distract me from the hell of starving to death. And it's only going to get worse after the surgery! At least I get one sensible meal right now. After surgery its nothing but clear liquids for at least three weeks. You may ask why I am doing this to myself...the answer is simple. I want to live. In every sense of the word. Longevity wise and quality of life as well. I can barely walk across a store the way I am now and it's only getting worse. My joints have had it. Goddess only knows what I am doing to my heart. But even though I have my mind and heart and body set on this course, it doesn't preclude me being grumpy about it. But I'll hang in there. Just you wait and see.

Meanwhile, how are you all doing? Leave me a little feedback. I am expecting ARCs of RAPTURE, book 2 in the Shadowdwellers series, in a couple of weeks. Maybe I'll give something away to a commentor!

Hugs and kitties
Jacki

I wish you so much luck with your surgery. As a plus size woman myself, I know how difficult it is to diet but I also know what an effect weight has on quality of life, not to mention quantity. I will keep you in my prayers that all goes smoothly and that the results are more than worth the current sacrifices!

I hope your kitty's health issue isn't too bad and that the specialist will be able to help him. I worry myself sick when my fur baby is under the weather so I can relate.

Best of luck!
Hugs,
Robin S.

Best of luck with the surgery.

Hope Kitty is alright. My cat recently swallowed a rather long length of string. Still awaiting the outcome, literally.

Can't wait for Ecstasy!

Please let us know how you are after your surgery (whenever you able).

XO - Lynn

Good luck on your surgery! It´s always difficult when we want to change, but as you said, you are prepared in body, mind and spirit and that´s all that matter.

Good to know about the Nightwalkers!!! Make my sunday very happy to know there will be a sixth book.

Good luck on your surgery. My mom actually had the same surgery about 4 or 5 years ago, and she is happy she did it. I know it was hard for her, but she even told me the results are worth it. I can't wait for you new books, and i hope kittie feels better. :)

Oh Jacki, Good luck with your surgery. Your always in my prayers!! Just follow the doctors orders and stick to it, trust me when its all over and done your going to see it was all worth the short trip to hell..hehe.But I do hope your kitty is alright. I hate to see or hear that animal is sick or injured even though currently I don't have the privilege of having one cause my mum has really bad allergies, but I am planning to get a Pug...

Welcome to the Video-Gaming bandwagon....I'm a big fan of WoW myself got into it last year and I cant put it down, what level are you up to now?

I wish you good luck. I know its not alway easy trying to lose weigh and being healthy. So far I've lost about 20lbs in the last 2yrs. I still have another 10 to my goal(even though weight watchers thinks it should be another 20lbs) I want it to a realistic goal. I'm also looking forward to the next series of books. icia

Ohhh... poor kitty! That must have been muy scary! I have seen dogs have minor cunvulsions and that is alarming I can't even imagine what a major one is like!

Here's hoping and wishing it was a one time deal and kitty is fine from now on!

Best wishes on a safe and quick recovery for your upcoming surgery. I have known some people who have had it and everyone is glad they have.

Hopefully the crankiness will pass as your body adjusts. It's like detoxing, you know?

Can you drink lemon tea? I drink the herbal kind and it's very soothing. I have heard peppermint tea is too...

Three weeks and two days till ECSTASY!!!!! Ohh... I can't wait! And a book 6 to tie stuff up ... excellent!!!! And new stuff? Yippeeee!!! That's like getting all my Chanukkah pressies in one day! lol

WoW? I haven't gotten into that. Pro'bly a good thing as I seem to not have time to do what I should be doing as it is! I dogsat for 2 pups for 2 weeks and managed to take 2500+ pictures and did no human laundry!

Hugs!

Good luck with the surgery. I looked into the LapBand and have friends who have done the surgery. It's a monumental change you are undertaking and harder than hell to do a 360 on your body like that. Bitch central won't last forever.

I can't wait for the new books! Wishing you all the best with your writing.

As always,
Diana Castilleja

Hey I have nothing but sympathy for your suffering but the computer games are a genius destraction, I like the final fantasy series. It is sad to say that I can play ten straight hours on those games if I need a distraction. Also sorry about your cat, when mine was ill it drove me crazy and to have everything going on at once must be a nightmare.

Good luck with everything and I hope you have a good christmas.

Computer games, books and tv shows/movies are good distractions. It will be all worth it when you feel healthy. I wish you luck and many blessings on your surgery. SAme that your kitty is doing fine.

Can't wait to see the new book and the new book for Nightwalker series just made my day after finding out my transmission is messed up on my car. Argh! But yay on the book news! Can't wait to hear about news from your new contract!
Have a safe, relaxing and hopefully, joyous week!

Congrats to you for the nomination Noah is getting from RT! It's well deserved in my opinion. Woohoo to a 6th Nightwalker book!! I think that smart-ass character needs to see what all the fuss is about when it comes to love too! And Ruth getting what's coming to her will be good too!!

You just keep picturing the healthy new body you're going to have and all this liquid diet hell will be worth it in the end. I hope everything goes well with your kitty at the specialist!!

Hope all goes well for you... I am fighting the fluffiness issue myself and diets SUCK so I bet the liquid one is really tough. Just keep thinking how much better you will feel:) Hope the Kitty is better. The doc always says one is more scarier to the person then the animal. Glad the bloodwork was normal...

Peace..

Been there and done the weight loss surgery thing. The best I can say is that it gets easier after the actual surgery because you get full faster, and once the weight starts coming off you will love how much better your body feels and how much better you feel about it.

As for the kitty I know how you feel, it's aweful not knowing what is wrong with your baby. I feel the same about my children and my furbabies. Hope the little one is doing better soon and prayers of hope and luck on the surgery,

It may seem like Hell right now, but the end result will be well worth it.

You are doing this for all the right reasons - and the fact that you recognize your grouchy will actually do a lot to tone that down.

Hugs and prayers to you and your kitty - I'll keep you both in my prayers.

Good luck with the surgery. My cousin had it and now she jokes it was so worth it to loose the "Bad" half.

The doctor will help your kitty so don't fret to much. I won't help with diet just make it worse.

Best of luck with your surgery,
Tabitha

Jacki, it takes a lot of guts to do what you are doing and I give you tons of credit for doing it. I hope it all works out for you.

I'm sorry to hear about your kittie. I hope everything checks out when you take him to the specialist.

Good luck with everything!

good luck with the surgery!!

And I'm curious about the 6th Nightwalker book... Want to spill some more??

How is the kitten??

Indie_Chick said...

I just realized something for the 6th book you wouldn't by any chance be talking about little miss overly-posessive, snotty nose Jasmine? If it is oooh I can't wait for her to get what's coming to her... I hope she suffers before she finds any sort of redemption....

Hey Jackie, I understand your problems being a plus-sized woman myself and you have all my support with what you are going through. I hope that the kitten gets better too.

A 6th Nightwalker book? WHOO! I'm very intrigued.
