What's happening June 2010?

This is just some of what is going to be given away at my Big! Huge! Reader Contest! this June.

Three of the boxes each hold bags, books, and goodies I brought back from the RT Booklovers Convention and one box holds a t-shirt, blanket, water bottle and, amongst other things, a Pink...um, actually, you'll have to wait until June 1st to find that out!

So, my advice is to use the "follow" button I added to the right column of my blog for just this occassion and prepare to talk books. It's all happening on Tilly Greene's Hot Thoughts Blog throughout June and the more days you visit and comment, the more chances you have to win that one box.

Still waiting for summer

It's still gray and soggy here in the midwest...I'm starting to wonderf if I should be building an ark in my spare time :) Instead I've been working away on my next guardian novel, which I'm sadly behind on. It hasn't helped matters that my boys are home for the summer and I have a houseful of people wondering in and out of the house at all hours (and of course leaving behind a mess). I need a nice long vacation that is kid-free :)

On the plus side I did get my cover for my upcoming anthology which I'm excited about. It should be hitting the shelves Aug. 31st.!

Everyone have a fantastic summer!

Stella stopping in...

So RT was a complete BLAST! No doubt you saw the piccys in Tilly's last post, and you saw what awesome fun we all had. This year was the best for me by far, and it was the only year I really dressed up. I had outfits for all the parties and some for just day wear... but at this point I'm most loving my outfit for the signing on saturday. It was comfortable, relaxed, but still super cute. I pared a really cute shirt with a corset because it just looked adorable, and my new denim wide leg capris. Why the boots? because they were the only flats I had with me that sorta matched. Still I was adorable, and comfortable...

So Yeah, I figured our I have a book releasing on Saturday, one of the Eververse stories, You Burn Me, and its a novella nicely priced at 99 cents. What you dont know about this one? Well lemme give you the skinny:

A priestess of The Morrigan, Xxieda Rolla is a woman who has known success in her business, fulfillment in her family life and is only missing one thing: the love of the man that would have her for always. Sent to Shadow Heights New York by her goddess to find him, she meets the ever tasty, ever surly Dante Barratt. Sparks fly, and so does Amaretto Latte.

Dante, a dealer of rare and illegal commodities, and a very tempestuous fire demon might want the woman who's brown eyes haunt him, but knows better then to get involved with someone who just screams purity. Shes hot, and successful in ways he never could be, and knows a man that just gave away his soul like he did didn't deserve a woman like that.

After a chance encounter on a dark street corner, and an earth shattering kiss, Both are powerless to deny the chemistry between them... until Xxieda tells him her secret: shes a virgin.

Caught between his head and his heart, can Dante accept the fact that Fate sometimes gives us exactly what we really need, not what we think we want?

SO Yeah doesnt that sound good? I hope so. Its cheap as our gift to you, the reader. A lot of people had been asking about Dante after they read Sugar and Sin, so we decided it was high time to get his story out. We hope you like it.

OOH and guess what? All the hubbub for AAD starts in two weeks. Posts on books, events, parties and the signing will be here for all to see... so stay tuned!

Mother's Day for Demons...

...and other things we don't think about.

I think one of the things the I always asked myself when reading paranormal romance was...and where did these people's families disappear to?? Granted, if you are turned into a vampire you have a choice, bury all your relations throughout the years or turn them and take 'em with you. Werewolves always seem to be more family oriented. Dens. Packs. Inbreeding and in-fighting. Okay, so sometimes there's such a thing as too much family.

I took a slightly more traditional approach to family when I created the Nightwalker breeds. They are family-centric, (although without the incest, tyvm) and that seems to me to be one of their most attractive traits. After all, didn't you just melt when you saw Noah playing with Leah? Didn't you just want him all wrapped up in a bow? Can't you just imagine him on Mother's Day with Kestra bringing her flowers and brekkies in bed?? (Well, had she not been...you know...) Doesn't it just kill you to think those genes aren't going to be spread into the future generations?? Aren't you just dying to know if the Vampire and the Lycanthrope are ever going to be able to reach across their racial chasm and perhaps, maybe, one day, make a baby together? What about the Lycanthrope and the Demon?? Or the Vampire and the...oops. Wait. That would be telling. ;)

I think this stems from my difficulties in the world of family. I had a brutal childhood, and although I have four sisters, we aren't what I would call uber close. I'm not blaming anyone. It's a pretty selfish day and age and we all get so wrapped up in our own crap that it seems family has fallen to the wayside. I am up front and guilty of it myself. As I get older I seem to long for the family touch more and more. After all, someone needs to take care of me one day when I am old and sick. :P Just kidding. I already was old and sick. I'm in my new thirties now.

But it always amazes me that, even if we lack for genetic family, we throng together to make families of our own. At my signing this weekend I spent fabulous time with this adorable family. They are called the Blood Lust Book Club. There's the gay male matriarch, the hippy dippy female father figure who runs War Hammer games, the gay male's wife who has a rockin tattoo and, erm, bite marks...and all the little kidlets that sit around and hug all the time, share meals, share hurts and woes and are probably more there for each other than most traditional church-going families ever will be. It's times like this I think we might actually have hope in our future as a society in general.

For now, I like making up my own societies. The good guys are good and the bad guys are dead...eventually. I swear....EVENTUALLY!! (Then again, eventually is true for all things in a thermodynamic universe...) In my new title Drink of Me (Zebra, Oct. 2010) I take a relatively orphaned group of males and make them into one of the tightest family units I've ever written. The blood drinking and all that...well, it's just one of those family quirks. But far be it from me to judge the non-traditional family. In fact, I celebrate it!

So imagine Mother's Day in Noah's castle. All your favorite characters are there. Doesn't it warm the cockles of your heart? Or, like me, can you see the sadder hearts that would be there? They have their HEAs, their one true love, but suddenly we realize that it's not all about that, is it? Are we selfish for wanting more? For wanting it ALL??

Meh. Not to worry. I'll see that we all get what we want one way or another. Even if we don't quite realize it was what we were really asking for all along.

Can someone be good, bad and kinky - all at once?

The short answer is YES!

Most people are genuinely good and occassionally do something "out of character" or bad. That doesn't make them a bad person, I think it makes them human. Now, as for the kinky bit, well, when I use the word "kinky" I mean it in a sexual not-vanilla sense, and how a person enjoys their sex doesn't define them as being good or bad either.  As far as I'm concerned, people never stop learning and the Good, Bad and Kinky duet is grounded in the idea that it's never wrong to make a change in our lives or try something new to us.  Nothing about living is set in stone and that means everything is possible, like the Devil retiring or an angel giving up the good life in Heaven.

In Call Me Lucifer, deep down in his soul, Lucifer - yes, the Devil - is a good person with a touch of bad to keep his lady love on her toes. And in the newly released My Angel, Ann Miller may be a guardian angel, but when offered a chance to live the life she never had, she goes for it and lets her naughty inclinations free!

Call Me Lucifer by Tilly Greene
Paranormal Erotic Romance/Bondage and D/s
Available through Whiskey Creek Press Torrid and Amazon

He is much more than the horrific job title and now he needs to prove it to her!

Lucifer, the Prince of Darkness, works hard dishing out punishments and asks for little in return, until now. He's been waiting an eternity for a woman who would bring out his gentle side, his need to love and be loved in return. He’d started to wonder if she even existed but at last he’s found her, in a courtroom arguing for a tougher sentence.

After his first introduction to Nia Adams, a sexy petite firebrand, he spends all his time on the surface at her side. They have a serious relationship and he’s sure the emotion bouncing between them is love. Then she lies to him about how she feels.

While difficult to hear, the lie opens a door. It gives him the only chance he’ll ever have to show her who the man behind the horrific job title really is. And he takes it with both hands.

My Angel by Tilly Greene
Paranormal Erotic Romance/Bondage
Available through Whiskey Creek Press Torrid and Amazon

Not everything worth having is easy to obtain.

Ann Miller was murdered as a toddler and ended up in Heaven without ever really living. She’s never questioned what she missed experiencing, not until she earns her Guardian Angel wings. With them fluttering happily around her, she discovers what being in love truly feels like and wants to embrace it fully.

As a drummer for the band of the decade, Tom Baker leads a decadent life that takes a toll on him, and he works hard to take back control of his life. Ann is there to watch over him and the more time she spends with him, the more she wants. Then her luck changes.

Ann is given the chance to live again with the man she loves, but there are conditions. She must wait for him to proclaim his heart first...and there’s a time limit.

There you go, hints a fun duet where everyone is good, bad and kinky.

Enjoy!

RT was wild fun and I forgot my camera!

I know and I'm really sorry because I took it to Columbus and simply never took it out of my bag! Then, to make matters even worse, I was late for our time in Club RT. Thankfully it was all alright - thanks to Stella - and was having a great time chatting to people when I placed a box of promo onto another and it caused the table to collapse. The entire room went quiet - rather embarassing, but Joe was there to make sure I didn't lose my toes - thank you Joe :-)

Okay, enough of the negatives, there are loads of folks posting pictures and videos about the net [check out Stella's on Facebook], but only I can tell you a few things about what happened:

1. Stella Price was a really hot dresser at all three events and I'm hoping she'll make me a pair of horns like the ones she wore to the Faery Ball.

2. Besides Stella, I saw Eliza Gayle, Bianca D'Arc and Jacquelyn Frank who looked fabulous and now I can't wait to see her again at AAD - the chick can dance people, seriuosly!

3. Discovered a couple new to me authors who write mysteries - I know, mysteries at RT? Yup, and they sounded like really good reads.

4. I met a few aspiring authors and am excited to read the books they were telling me about - especially Nett and her contemporary.

5. And the big thumbs up that made the rest of the convention go well, I didn't trip walking across the stage at the Ellora's Cave Paint the Town Red party and had a sweet escort - sweet as in tall and cute :-)

So, I apologize for forgetting to do my duty to take pics to share with everyone, it won't happen again!
